Onyx. Obsidian. Coal. I could throw out synonyms for black for days, but hopefully the hint is clear. This is one dark beer. The head, a half inch high crown the color of runny mud, lasts for a minute or two before dissolving into a glass hugging ring.
Nose is baking chocolate, chocolate syrup and booze. Not this beer's strongest suit but still very good.
Man oh man does this taste good. First sip and my mouth is assaulted with rich fudge, milk chocolate, baking chocolate, and a finish that mixes char with more milky chocolate. This is just an amazing example of an imperial stout. Finish is nice and dry too.
Only a mouth luscious and thick could do a beer like this justice and this mouth does. Smooth like velvet.
If I didn't have a job to go to tomorrow or a limited supply of this I could drink this one forever. Wow.
