Bottle purchased at Sweet T's in Duck NC. Pour is dark as can be with a thin wisp of dark tan head that dwindles to a corona around the edge of a tulip glass.

Aroma is coffee, chocolate, soy sauce. Very roasty with a hint of booze, although surprisingly little all things considered.

Flavor is the expected chocolate, coffee. Also pick up hazelnut in there. Very nice.

Mouthfeel is thick, feels a little foamy on the tongue. The 90 IBU's make themselves felt for a while on the finish.

Not exactly a beach drinkc but this is a great answer to a week full of wheats and IPA's.

Bottled on 1/02/2013.

Pours an impressive silky black motor oil...wow that's dark. Aromas of strong coffee, brownies, dark chocolate, and tobacco. Taste is much the same with a sweet chocolate flavor upfront followed by a strong tobacco bitterness in the finish that lingers for awhile. Very smooth mouthfeel with very little carbonation.

An excellent example of a Russian Imperial Stout and perfect for the winter months. Definitely bitter but at 90 IBU's what do you expect? Tobacco presence was strong and I was hoping for more chocolate. I guess that's what Breakfast Stout is for. There is a time and a place for this beer and that's during January when is freezing outside.

Cheers!
