A - Bright, crystal clear cranberry juice body. Light pink hue in an otherwise white head. Low retention and lace.

S - Sparkling raspberry juice, touch of sour cherry jello powder, sprite soda,

T - Sweet white sugar, tart lemon, raspberry juice, and Sweet Tarts candy.

M - Flat, but full frame with little to no carbonation.

O - Good but not great. The flavors come off as slightly artificial, and the mouthfeel leaves a lot to be desired.

Murky reddish brown with active but wispy carbonation.

The smell is one dimensional, but it's distinct and strong. Sugary raspberry puree. Raspberry jam. Sweet, sweet raspberry.

To no surprise, the flavor is entirely sweet raspberry. It's wine cooler-esque and sugary sweet.

Mouthfeel is light and prickly with carbonation. A sweet sensation is left on the tongue.

It's entirely one dimensional, but still enjoyable. A good summer beer and if you like raspberries, it's certain you'll like this.

Bottled on 6/6/12.

Appearance: Ruby red and opaque. Light pink frothy head which is quite possibly the strangest color I've seen on top of a beer.

Aroma: Sweet raspberry, almost in a candy-like way. Hard to get much past that besides a touch of bready malt.

Taste: Starts of incredibly sweet with a raspberry jam character. The flavor gets slightly tart near the finish which is nice but sort of falls off after that leaving an odd aftertaste of pale malt and dank raspberry. Quite a lot of flavor for a 5.7% ABV beer but it does get repetitive.

Mouthfeel: Just under medium in body with a good level of carbonation to accent the sweet and tart flavor. Above average drinkability.

Final Thoughts: Yet another interesting, if not quite solid, beer from Founders. I tend to think beers with added fruit should be more tart like a Lambic but not a bad effort here. Definitely one for those with a sweet tooth. Would I drink it again? I suppose.
