The only downside on this beer is that I find myself drinking it too quickly, because it's so freaking delicious. Full blast of raspberry, in both smell and taste, but not too sweet. I don't think I could ever drink two in an evening, but it's a great one-beer beer for a summer night.

Thanks! Pours a deep almost neon pinkish red with a very small slightly pink head that recedes quickly. Aroma of sour berries and funk, with more malt presence than I expected (silly me for expecting a Blushing Monk type of brew). Flavor is big bold raspberry with some other flavors mixing in that I can’t put my finger on. A definite malt presence in the finish. Dry finish and plenty of carbonation. More like Cerise than Blushing Monk. Solid overall, but not spectacular.

12 ounce bottle, illegible bottled on date other than 2013. Poured into tulip

Hazy, deep red, virtually no head other than a few wispy traces of bubbles.

Smelled of raspberry. Period.

Taste is a very nice raspberry flavor, sweetness, and acidic. The acid taste is nice, overbalanced the sweet, but in the end, sweetness wins out. Somewhat jam like, but the raspberry flavor is huge. Very nice tea-like characteristics on the finish that I have experienced before with high quality raspberry.

Very bright mouthfeel. Feels more carbonated than it is. There is a lingering sweetness along with a bit of sourness. Some stickiness, yet at he same time a little drying. Refreshing.

Overall, a very enjoyable beer for the raspberry lover (and I am one). Not complicated, very straightforward. Doesn't pull any punches...it is all about the raspberry. Will have gain.

12 oz bottle purchased in Grand Rapids this month and served in a snifter.

Deep red, lightly hazy, with a thin head that barely covers the top despite a fairly vigorous pour.

Raspberries!!! This brew is all about the raspberries and they are there in spades, both in the powerful aroma and in tasting. In both, the rasperries have a very natural tasting presence. The aroma is largely a cross between fresh raspberries and raspberry jam. Excellent tart/sweet balance shades to the tart side.

O: Founders’ answer to New Glarus Serendipity (or is it the other way around?). Close in quality to that world-class brew although notably lower carbonation, if memory serves. I’d love to compare them in a simulataneous tasting. Highly recommended (unless you do not care for fresh raspberries).

{revisited with bottle of same vintage in Feb. 2014: remains at least as impressive}.

not much of a head..about a 1/4 in.reddish/amber color, rather clear..the aroma is fantastic, due to the fresh raspberries.evidently the raspberries are fermented, rather than strictly added.the taste is a little sweet, which wanes a little as you drink it.mouthfeel is light to medium, great for a refreshing summer drink.i highly recommend for being what it is.
