12oz bottle into a snifter. The brew appears a brilliant clear ruby color with a pink stained frothy head a finger strong. It fades slowly leaving strings of patchy lacework. A swirl effortlessly revives a finger back to the surface.

The aroma is jam-like with fresh raspberry juice and a bit of earthen seedy aspect. When swirled it displays a mild amount of cheese and sulfur with a bready grain element that transitions to more of a green yeastiness.

The flavor is sweet with a taste of cereal grains, bread, biscuit, wheat and plenty of natural raspberry flavoring. The fruity element is caught somewhere between sugar-free candy and luden's cough drops. The aftertaste has more of that previously mentioned earthen to pit or seeded raspberry character somewhat grassy even and mildly medicinal to mineral-like.

This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation that is very easy drinking. As far as fruit beers go, this is a pretty solid offering. An abundance of fruit and enough of a wheat grain base to remind you this is beer. As it warms up, a slight tingle of that 5.7% starts to show itself. Admittedly, I purchased a 4-pack of this hoping it was an overloaded fruity concoction that my wife would enjoy. Unfortunately, it is no New Glarus raspberry tart but it isnt bad either.

Glass: Port City Belgian style Snifter.

Appearance: Red. 1 Finger of large pink rocky head. No lacing to speak of.

Smell: Raspberries! Slight breadiness. Yum!

Taste: Raspberries! Tart, with slight alcohol flavor.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation with medium body.

Overall: I never thought I could like a strictly raspberry beer as much as this one. Nothing about it tastes artificial. Very tasty!

Bottled 5/26/13. Served in a tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours ruby red with a hint of purple. There's one finger of a light pinkish head

Smell: Fresh raspberries, grainy malt, tart. Slight Belgian quality as well.

Taste: Tart raspberries, malt sweetness, light breadiness.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied and crisp with medium carbonation.

Overall: One of the better fruit beers out there. This is exactly what I'm looking for in a summer beer. Only downside is the relatively high price given what this beer is.

Appearance: Light pink head drops to a small collar and faint cap in short order. Minimal carbonation on the pour. A deep rich purple red color. Slight haze and muddle drops quickly leaving nice clarity.

Smell: Sweet obliterated raspberries. Jam, juice, flesh, it's all there. It's like sticking your nose in raspberry. Not much else. A very slight hint of malt in the back, but it's vague and light. Some sugary sweetness, but more like jam than straight sugar. A very slight tart edge in the back.

Taste: Macerated raspberry. Juicy flesh and juice. Some tannic qualities. A bit more malt than expected from the nose. A light, slightly bready and caramelized flavor. A bit sweet, and more so as it warms. Almost sugary at times. A slight tart raspberry flavor. Ends sugary sweet and it lingers. Very similar to a raspberry Dum Dum.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with a moderately light carbonation. Very neutral on the finish, not clean, not dry, just kind of there.

Overall: You could do worse.

This beer melted my brain in 2009. I was really looking forward to the new release. It's a fruit beer with some actual beer character in there. A bit too sweet overall, but a nice summer beer. Refreshing and a killer beer to use as an intro to the style.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip.

Pours a purplish, pink with a 2" light pink head. Trails and waves of lacing remain.

Honey, raspberry, dark fruits, maybe a trace of alcohol?

Sweet honey and raspberry syrup. Very light tart raspberries, and almost some chocolate notes.

Pretty good fruit beer that is like blushing monk lite. Still nowhere near anew Glarus fruit beers but worth a try.

Appearance: a nice garnet color. small pinkish foam that fades quickly and leaves nothing behind

Smell: sweet raspberries. some hints of a malt backbone but not much

Taste: sweet raspberries, some tartness. matly backbone is present but i can't pick it out too well

Mouthfeel: sticky and more tart than is present in the taste. fairly light

Overall: a lot like cherise, i don't see too much difference. way to one dimensional to be great to me. i like my fruit beers with more of something else. such as a unique malt that is stronger or some sourness to it.
