Appears deep red with a pink head.
Smells of earthy, deeply natural raspberries. I get a mild sweet smell and a mild spicy yeast smell.
Tastes of sweet jam, raspberries, mild pepper. There is a nice amount of tartness that balances out the sweetness. The alcohol is pretty well masked as well. There are many wine like features to this beer.
There is ample carbonation and a somewhat thick mouth feel.
This is a great fruit beer. It tastes of natural raspberries. It is pretty easy to drink and is very flavorful. A great example of what a fruit beer should be.

12.3% alc per label.Poured into a oversized wine glass a full rich raspberry red with a hint of brown to it a lacy pink colored head atop, wow big tart raspberry aromas a bit of sweet alcohol and toast as well.Tastes like the raspberries off the bush I used to eat when running around the woods of central MI as a kid very tart with just a bit of sweetness but the tartness really is the show, there is a toasty backbone and a sticky sweet aftertaste and mouthfeel making it more that just tart raspberries on the palate. The best fruit beer of any kind I have had I had Rubeus over the summer and this is a double version of that, kick ass beer.

$13.59 a bottle at Woodmans East. Wowza! 12.3% Pours a crimson lavender with a huge pink tinged white head. Dissipation is rapid despite a lot of visible carbonation. Aroma is boozy and very powerful, consisting mostly of raspberries. Very tart and boozy flavor of raspberries. Full to the point of being heavy. Raspberry flavor is out of this world but its one dimensional, not that that is necessarily bad. I think this beer is exactly what the brewers were going for. Its really quite astounding. Personally, however, I am not very happy with it. Its just too big, too strong, and too much of a good thing. I also dont like that the body, at least to me, seems to come more from alcohol then from raspberries. Impressive it is, simply for being so big and so fruity but I really did not enjoy it and had a tough time finishing the bottle, even with a little help.

A - Pours deep red/purple with one finger of pink head. Head doesn't last too long and leaves only spotty lacing.
S - Smell is mostly raspberries, but in a few different forms. some Some fresh puree, a bit of raspberry jam and faint raspberry liqueur. Also a very faint earthy yeast aroma.
T - Tart raspberry up from, with sweet raspberry coming in quickly behind. Does maintain a nice tartness throughout to help cut the sweetness. Certainly not an intense sourness, but a nice acidity.
M - Nice creamy mouthfeel. Sweet, but not syrupy. Again, the tartness helps to cut the sweetness a bit and slightly dry out the finish.
O - While it is a touch too sweet, it is nowhere near Lindeman's Framboise sweet, and is a very nice raspberry beer. Good on a hot day.

22 oz bottle was about $16 at The Keg in Clarksville, Indiana. Pours a slightly hazed garnet body with a small and soapy pink head. A few flecks of lace are left on the goblet. Aroma is earthy yeasty mushrooms and lots of raspberries. Taste mirrors the aroma, with lots of tart raspberries and some earthy yeast. Alcohol is miraculously hidden except for a slight warmth. Very drinkable for such a large fruit beer.

Pours insanely red. I just stared at it for a few minutes admiring the awesome color. Smells of sweet sugary raspberry. The taste was light raspberry, and belgian yeast, followed by HUGE raspberry upon swallowing. Tastes extremely genuine, nothing fake about it. Carbonated, semi heavy, creamy, mouthfeel. Big time sipper, but actually got easier to drink as it warmed. Overall this was an awesome experience. The next bottle I open will be with a nice chocolate ganache. I feel it will pair perfectly with it.
Edit: oct 26 2013. This got amazing. So balanced and smooth. As far as fruit beers go, this could not be any better.
