12 oz. bottle poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass. Bottle is pretty cool. The Bottle has a face on it that looks like an old man or old woman depending on whether you hold it upside down or right side up. The liquid comes out a straw yellow color that's a little hazy. The head is white and has lots of little frothy bubbles. Some decent lacing to it.
Smell is really good, easily the best part. A nice blend of tropical and citrus fruity hoppiness. Some ripe grapefruit, sweet tangerine, and even some melon/mango? Even with that there's some nice sweetness from a nice malt backbone and almost some natural honey/nectar.
Taste is good, on par with the smell. Good balance of bitterness and sweetness. The pale/caramelized malts come forward first. Then it leads to the citrusy hops but are much more earthy in the flavor than the smell. Pretty good balance though overall and the bitterness/sweetness is pretty well balanced.
The mouthfeel is good. There's a nice carbonation level, an for how hoppy it is and fairly high in alcohol (9.4%0 there's not much of a bite. The alcohol is slightly warming and there's sort of a natural oily feel then a bitter finish. Well balanced overall and pretty drinkable. Another well done beer by a great brewery.
