Enjoyed in a DFH Signature Glass.
A - Pours a mostly clear, deep amber color. A creamy, whitish colored, one finger head upon pouring that quickly settles to a thin white covering on top of the beer. Sticky lacing left on the sides of the glass.
S - Wonderful combination of hops and citrus (grapefruit) aromas dominate the initial smell.
T - Again, a great DIPA with a nice, slightly bitter hop taste mingled with a cirtrusy flavor. The maltiness is slightly higher than in other DIPAs I had. Reminds me of the Founders Centennial IPA on steroids. The alcohol is well disguised but you can notice it poking through the more the beer warms up.
M - Rather low carbonation. The bitterness from the hops remain on the pallete after finishing. A thicker bodied beer.
D - A great beer. The combination of a high ABV and a overall heaviness to the beer, expect to enjoy this beer at a slower pace and then only expect to be able to have a couple at a time. That being said, it is a pleasure to drink.
Overall: Another winner from Founders! Their Centennial IPA blew me away when I first tried it and this is its "Big Brother", in my opinion. Unfortunately this is a seasonal brew so I highly recommend that you pick it up when you see it on the shelves. You'll be glad you did. Highly recommended!

Tasted July 25th 2011 (from review)
Poured into a la Chouffe tulip
A - pale straw, half finger white head and some lacing
S - very sweet, tons of citrus, lots of tropical fruits and flowers, very sweet, lots of malt, slight pungent yeast and all around awesomeness
T - super hoppy, lots of sugar, tons of fruit, grass, yeast, wheat, nice sweet malt, boozey but not to boozey, very slight MJ note. Very simple but tons of flavor
M - Full bodied, excellent balance, simple complexity, medium acidity and a very nice almost perfect hop, malt and sugary booze finish
D/O - This is the kind of beer that makes me want all beers to be readily available all over the America's! One of the better DIPA's I have had and most definitely makes founders worth the "hype"
Final Thoughts - at 9+ ABV this beer kicks it into gear and is one of the better DIPA's. Still, not being easy to obtain, make this beer obnoxiously awesome!
