Lacking a snifter, tulip or oversized wine glass, I poured it into my big goblet.
A: Not much head on the pour, but a continual rising cascade of bubbles helped maintain a nice layer on the top. A golden honey hue in color. Just a slight opaqueness to it.
S: Potent, crisp early morning pine needle hoppiness, coupled with some rich, mead-like sweet fruit notes, like peaches and apricots. A little booze too.
T: A bitter punch in the mouth, I tell you - the sourness gave the heebie jeebies a little. Sweet honey flavors, not much maltiness, just crazy hops. It feels like I'm drinking liquid gold.
M: This aspect is the star of the show - perfectly thick, smooth, chewy, but not too much so. Just....nice. The carbonation is excellent.
D: I can't put away many of any double IPA, and it's the same for this one - it's clearly high quality but the sour aspects keeps me from wanting more.
