Poured into a snifter.
A: Hazy deep golden yellow with one-finger, white, foamy head that lasted a couple of minutes. Nice lacing.
S: Hops, pine and citrus. Sweet caramel malt.
T: Moderate sweetness and solid hop bitterness. The bitterness is up front and the sweet malt follows. Matches the nose. Very good.
M: Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Slightly dry.
O: This is a really good Double. I was surprised to see 9.4% ABV - I couldn't tell.

I saw four packs bottled on 6/14 sitting on a case packaged on 7/13. So i lay the four packs aside, open up the case, and pull out a four pack. Goes to show how it pays off to look for dates!!
Poured from a bottle into a snifter at around 40°F
Appearance: Hazy golden color with a very small off white head. Not extremely impressed by the look. But looks are deceiving
Smell: Now this is what I call balanced! Right out the fridge it's one part citrus hops and one part toasted malts. As it warms, I pull out more vibrant citrus with a undertone of malt sweetness
Taste: Right out the fridge I get bright citrus grapefruit and pine upfront, toasted malts in the middle, then the citrus and pine again in the finish that lingers on the palate. As it warms, grapefruit is showcased with a bready sweet malt undertone
Mouthfeel: Full bodied; Low carbonation, smooth with a dry finish.
Overall: This is one of those IPAs (and beers in general) that has different aromas and flavors when cold than closer to room temperature. The toasted malt is more prominent when chilled, resulting in a more balanced beer per se, but as it warms, the citrus is where i like it to be with malts becoming sweeter and playing more in the background. My ratings are based on this beer being closer to room temperature which i enjoy more than straight out the fridge. However, this is not up there with my absolute favorites in the style, but I highly recommend it for someone who enjoys a well balanced IPA. LET IT WARM UP! Cheers!!
