12oz bottle purchased at Rozi's Wine House in Lakewood, OH.
Pours a dark and slightly hazy golden hue with a light amber tinge, a sliver of white foam, and strands of webbed lacing on the tulip.
Smell is cookie dough, honeyed biscuit, toasty malt, mango, papaya, citrusy and herbaceous hops, peach, navel orange, and very faint pineapple.
Taste is citrus, stone fruit, honey sweetness, biscuit, pine, resiny hops, pithy and astringent grapefruit bitterness to end.
Mouthfeel is full side of medium-bodied, lush and juicy middle, soft carbonation, big resinous, spicy, and citric bitterness transitions to a lengthy, drying finish. Bang on for the style.
Overall, Double Trouble is a killer DIPA with a pungent and unrelenting hop character. Definitely worth a purchase if you can get your hands on some. More nectar from Founders.

I saw four packs bottled on 6/14 sitting on a case packaged on 7/13. So i lay the four packs aside, open up the case, and pull a four pack out. Goes to show how it pays to look at dates folks!!
Poured from a bottle into a snifter at around 45°F
Appearance: Hazy golden color with a very small off white head. Not extremely impressed by the look. But looks are deceiving
Smell: Now this is what I call balanced! One part bright citrus hops and one part toasted malts.
Taste: Bright citrus and pine upfront, toasted malts in the middle, then the citrus and pine again in the finish that lingers on the palate.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied; Smooth with a dry finish
Overall: I'm becoming more adapt to the straight on fruit bomb IPAs, which this almost is, but not quite. However, it is extremely balanced. So much so that id consider this one of the most balanced IPAs iv had. The bright citrus notes play wonderfully with the toasted malts. The citrus really opens up more once it warms up a bit. This is not up there with my favorite IPAs nor has the hop profile i REALLY prefer in the style, but I highly recommend this for someone who enjoys a well balanced IPA. Cheers!
