An imperial IPA that was brewed to turn your world upside down. Hops will get you coming and going. Pungent aromatics up front pair with a malt-balanced backbone and a smooth, bitter finish.

I am not an IPA fan in the least but drinking this and comparing it to what I believe the style to be - it's an excellent beer. Grapefruit is the word of the day on this for me. You can smell in, sitting there on the table in a crowded bar/restaurant. Very overpowering which isn't to say that's bad.
I enjoyed the beer rather much but wouldn't ever make it a habit and it didn't make me want to try other brewers' IPA's (singles or doubles).
Having tried more than a few different styles of beers and not considering myself to be locked into any one style when I go out or think about a beer enough to write a review - I'd say this is a good beer, worthy of trying at the least.

355 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.4%, 86 IBUs. Surprisingly pale golden colour, probably the palest American double IPA I’ve seen. Big to moderate white head. Distinct but still relatively moderate aroma of citrussy and piney American hops, also notes of caramel and orange marmalade. The flavour is of course very hoppy from start to finish, but not really extreme. The grapefruity bitterness is partly balanced by a pronounced malty sweetness. Notes of caramel and orange marmalade again. Very bitter aftertaste.

My favorite IPA.
Big grapefruit up front.
Alcohol is well hidden.
A great citrusy beer.

Hazed, amber/gold appearance with a medium size head and decent lacing. Subtle aroma; coaxed out some tropical fruit that resembled mango. Hoppy flavor leaned more resinous than citrus and was well balanced by the modestly sweet, malty backbone. Lush aftertaste.
