12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Thanks to JohnnieNepal for the bottle!

I've been warned that this is likely slightly past its prime, but am excited to try it anyway.

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with minimmal straw-colored head that dissipates quickly to a ring. Little to no lacing left down the glass.

S: Clean malt sweetness backed by a little bit of citrusy hop character. A very small bit of earthiness shows through. Malts and hops complement one another very well, but the hops could be a little more prominent.

T/M: This is definitely just a little past its prime, as warned. Up front is a swelling sweet malt taste with a little prickliness from carbonation and alcohol. Hop bitterness is evident on the finish and not really anywhere else, and a little alcohol shows through toward the end, but not too much -- I'd not guess this for a 9.4%abv beer aside perhaps from the hints from the brief head retention. A nice citrus taste follows the malts toward the end of the sip. Mouthfeel is very good... a solid medium with plenty of carbonation (but not overdone). This is really pleasant to drink, although I do wonder if it might be better fresher. I imagine it would be.

O: Very happy I have gotten to try this. Hopefully I will get to try it a little fresher next time around, but this is still a very good beer even with some age... just a little muted from what I imagine it should be. Very drinkable... almost scarily so for something this high in abv.

poured from 12oz bottle into standard pint glass. Bottled date of 5/25/13, so 3 months old.

Poured a nice yellow with some orange hints, very faint haze. White foamy head of about 1/2 inch retained for a while before becoming a collar with a faint cover. Lacing was light but stuck. This beer looks almost harmless when sitting there. "Come on, drink me"

Nice hops smell, with just a hint of the alcohol behind it.

Taste is just great, a medium hop assault on the roof of the mouth and sides of the tongue.

The finish is clean, with a slow and not overpowering alcohol burn taking over from the hops bitterness. Mouth is somewhere betweeen light and medium, a bit surprising for such a high alcohol DIPA. About 2/3rds of the way through the beer, the burn became more prevulent than the biting hops. Very soothing and satisfying.

Overall, a very good DIPA from a very good brewer.
