look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: It has a nice cloudy golden orange/yellow color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves some nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitly give out hints of citrus, grapefruit and pine with some sweet bready and caramelly malts.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some nice citrus and grapefruit from the hops, a good piney resin and some sweet caramelly malts. I'm loving the bitterness in this one!

Mouthfeel: It has a medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with great flavors and aromas. IPA#2 for IPA Day and another great one.

12 oz bottle was poured into a snifter.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that has reduced to a thin layer. It is a golden orange hue with some clarity and bobbles coming up through the glass. Some lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Hints of pine and lots of citrus in there, followed by some bready, crystal, and sweet malts. Very clean aroma to the beer.

Taste: Citrus all the way baby!!! Well balanced and has a subtle bitterness in there too. Alcohol is well hidden and the bitterness is actually enjoyable. It is a very clean beer.

Mouthfeel: smooth, full bodied, medium carbonation, a little chewy, easy to drink, and very tasty.

Overall: A very well balanced and enjoyable DIPA. I have had this on draft and in a bottle many times before. This one can be enjoyed over and over again.

The look of this beer is not as impressive for me. I wish it were not as cloudy and had more head. I will try it again starting a little warmer to see how if it pours better. The lacing was just average to me.

I like the first hit to the nose, citrus, grapefruit and fresh.

The taste is what intrigues me the most. I can't believe it is 86 ibu's. It must be how it is balanced with the malt. I am not a big IPA fan but this one gets better as I continue and the last sip is still good. It is not as punchy as the Founders Red Rye and not as strong in the grapefruit hit. No booziness for 9.4%, which I like in this case.

Dry and refreshing, yet with some creaminess enough to clean the bitter and not leave my mouth with an astringent, citrus peel feeling. This really works for me.

Overall, I keep coming back to this beer with surprise that I like an IPA so much. It seems to have some mysterious pull on me. It's not too filling either.
