Bottled 3/18/2011, four months old at this point.
Slightly hazy and deep golden yellow hue with a just off white colored head. As it dies down to a thin film, it leaves a noticeable lacing down the sides of the glass. So far, so good.
Head isn't quite as pungent as I anticipated. Slight citrus zest and floral hops, almost soapy. For a dry-hopped brew, the nose seems very restricted. I wonder if it'd be more aromatic with a fresher bottle?
Slight hop bitterness up front which exhibits little persistence. A bit of lemon rind and and some caramel malt. As with the nose, the hops are very subdued in this one, giving it an almost soapy flavor.
Mouthfeel is appropriate for the style; medium bodied with ample carbonation and a slightly dry finish.
I'm disappointed with this one to be honest. Founder's has always been one of my go to breweries and this one didn't quite deliver the goods. For a pale ale that labels its main distinguishing attribute as being dry hopped, I was expecting more of a bitter kick. I'll have to seek out a fresher bottle to see if its any better.

Appearance – This is a gorgeous, hazy orange in color with a foamy, white, pillowy head that showed great retention.
Smell – The nose is balanced between light citrus hopping and quality grain. No sense reallly of the dry-hopping.
Taste – This is a balanced ale. The grain is bigger here and very nice. The hops again are mild and well-proportioned.
Mouthfeel – This is just shy of medium-bodied and well-balanced in the mouth.
Drinkability – Definitely a session ale, this Founders’ offering shows off some high-quality ingredients as well as an expert’s touch by the brewmaster. One of the most quaffble APAs I’ve ever had.
