I guess this one just hit our area. I used to bring it back from the Midwest all the time.

A: Poured almost a solid, straw color, with maybe a bit more darkness than that. Crystal clear in color, and with a finger or so sudsy head that stuck around and to the glass.

S: Since this was dry-hopped, I got a nice fresh citrus bite along with a bit wheat... yep, wheat is the word I'm looking for.

T: Pretty bitter on the finish for a PA, and the overall taste profile, to me, resembles that of their harvest ale only FAR less intense. I got far less of the wheatiness I got on the nose, but still a nice mild grapefruit character.

M: Fruity, without being to sweet, and with slightly less carbonation than I like for a brew that is designed to be quite drinkable, but that is a minor quibble. The lacing was ridiculous.

O: Only a "B" overall average huh? I like this far more than I like Centennial but less that "Harvest," and my composite score should reflect that.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some hops present. Taste is hoppy up front, some citrus notes, malts kicking in towards the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is as decent brew.

appearance- light and cloudy with a 1 inch foamy head settles fast and leaves moderate lacing.

smell- a nice mix of pale malts and a typical hop smell.

taste- sweet in, sweet out, bitter in, bitter out.

mouthfeel- light mouthfeel with good caronation with wetness.

overall- a very drinkable beer with a very safe taste and smell to it. i would recondmend this to a starter of craft beer.

A- pours a brassy pale color with a finger and a half of bone white head. Good head retention.

S- dank hop aromas of pine sap, hop resin and hemp. Lots of floral notes in the middle with a touch of earth. Finishes with some crackery dry malt.

T- floral piney hop flavor burst at first. An earthy hemp like flavor blends in the middle. Finish is a grainy very dry crackery pale malt and a leafy hoppiness that quickly dies off.

MF- slick grainy mouthfeel with a light body and soft fine carbonation.

D- nice drinkability.

Overall a solid PA.

Golden colored ale with a towering head that sticks around forever and coats the glass in a blanket of lace. Exceptional clarity and visible bubbles.

Beautiful aroma of citrus fruits and pine. Exactly what I expected but oh so satisfying.

Bold and assertive hop flavors with lemon, grapefruit and pine. Smooth biscuit flavor from the malt.

Medium bodied and well carbonated. Dry, clean finish.

Some may say this is pretty standard for an APA due to the use of Cascade hops. They would be right, however I think Founder's has done it right. Very tasty brew with lots of character.

on tap at pope in philly

Pours a hazed dark golden color with some wheat-like tones. Crop of fluffed white head, fades into a layer of film, spots of lacing left on the glass.

Nice bite of bitterness in the nose, some hints of pine and citrus. Cracker-like malt and straw. Some light breadyness, touch of caramel.

Bitter and dry up front with some piny stickiness. Lemon peel and citrus. Cracker and straw in the malt with light breadyness. A bit sweet towards the finish, which is dry.

Medium body, decent carbonation, sticky and dry on the tongue. Pretty drinkable and refreshing, something I'd probably have again.
