Poured from a 12 oz bottle, received in a mixed 6-pack of the month from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, Virginia, into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a straw amberish color with a one finger head that dissipates fairly quickly. Smells of hops with a slight piney smell. Tastes of lots of hops, slight malt, but a dry hop, like the bottle says, dominates. Finishes very smooth with not much aftertaste, with good carbonation. Overall, a good pale ale.

Clear orange brew with barely a half inch of off white creamy head, that was more persistent than i expected. Smell included malt and citrus and pine. Taste was a nice balance of bread like malt and citrussy, piney hops. Light mouth feel seems appropriate.

Another light drinkable pale ale, fairly middle of the road.

Pours a nice copper color, but with almost no head. Very sweet, almost pungent aroma. Overly sweet for a pale ale - it almost tastes artificially sweet (both I and the person I was drinking with said it tastes like Splenda was added to it). Nor is it very hoppy - I would never have guessed this was dry hopped. Also, way over-carbonated. Overall, not a great representation of an American Pale Ale, nor a beer from Founders.

A- Pours a clear, golden yellow with a full three fingers of almost pure white head. Dissipated quickly, but left a solid cap with impressive lacing.

S- Kind of strange here, got an adjunct lager smell from this beer. Backed with citrusy hops, mostly lemon and grapefruit, and a dry cracker like malt aroma.

T- Pretty mild tasting, get some earthy prickly hops up front, then more of a dry clean malt profile. Surprised it wasn't more citrusy given the nose.

M- Light mouth feel, well carbonated, pretty refreshing.

O- Pretty mediocre beer all in all, not bad, but there are much better selections in the style

Pours a hazy deep yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, a mellow orange citrus hop. I the taste, a small hop, mostly citrus, and a bit watery. A small hop bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry and small citrus hop in the aftertaste. A bigger nose, but easy to drink and nice.

A: Pours a dark brass color. Minimal head, it fades away quickly.

S: Piney, citrusy, and a little musty actually. I don't think this is bad but the smell is a bit off.

T: Same as the smell without the mustiness. Pleasantly bitter, delightfully hoppy.

M: Nice carbonation, pleasant in the mouth. Leaves a lingering bitterness.

O: A great American Pale Ale. Above average. Downright delicious. Love this with a light meal.

35 IBUs. Citrusy hoppy aroma. Golden color. Lots of head on the pour, but settles down pretty quickly. Nice balance of malt and hops. Easy to drink. Not out-of-control like Red’s Rye PA and the Centennial IPA. Nice finish... reminiscent of the Sam Adams Pale Ale.

Founders lists the cascade hops and calls out the citrus flavors and floral hops aroma.

Overall: A-. Would like to have this again and would be good to share with others.

A- Pours a crystal clear gold with thin layer of head that quickly disappears.

S- Very nice hoppy scent with seemingly a little bit of everything in there. Grassy, little floral.

T- Taste is a little piney with some grassy/earthy qualities. Well balanced with the malt. Nice lightly bitter/hop finish

M- Light to medium body with medium carbonation.

O- Very good pale ale without much to complain about. Everything is a little above average in my opinion and I would definitely buy this again.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip pint glass.

A: Clear, brassy golden color with one finger of diminishing white foam head. Moderate lacing remains on the glass and small diffuse bubbles rise slowly in the column.

S: Toasted grain is clean and mild, with weak floral hops that seem muted.

T: Begins dry, with pale malt and precocious bitterness that becomes established early then stays. As with the smell, the hop aromatics are initially understated with an herbaceous quality. Acidity is mild into the middle, with more emphasis on rustic and bready malt qualities. Balance is achieved at the finish, with floral and bright citrus hops advancing to line up alongside the steady malt.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, wet and balanced on the palate, with low carbonation.

D/O: While not a home run, or even particularly groundbreaking, this pale ale does execute the style with technical proficiency. It is something of a sleeper; interest builds steadily from start to finish, eventually juxtaposing a nearly ideal malt bill with hops that are finally able to catch up. In fact, the malt qualities offer a welcome reminder of Founders Harvest Ale. Hops come in a distant second, although this beer stops short of seeming truly malt-focused.

Pours golden with fluffy head and lots of bubbly carbonation. Aroma is big citrus peel and some nice sweetness. Citrusy hops with some pleasant sweetness starts the flavor, very light bitter, and a lingering sweet citrus left on the palate. Light-medium mouthfeel, plenty of carbonation. So drinkable, and maybe borders on the IPA style with a light malt bill. Awesome pale!
