Golden body with an orange hue to it. A soapy white head produces thick sheets of lace.
Loads of vanilla, honey, sweet syrupy citrus, a bit of melon, caramel. The bourbon is pretty tame on the nose.
Well THIS is weird. I found the bourbon - it's on the palate. Cheap, artificially sweet Kentucky Beau overwhelms what would have been a tasty IIPA. Sweet honey and citrus flavors beneath that... vanilla and caramel, brown sugar.
I hope this concept doesn't catch on. Bourbon + IPA = confusion.
I'd love to see more IPA's aged in fresh oak or with oak chips. That there is a style I could jump on board with.
