On-tap at Haymarket. 4oz pour in a stange.
A - Served with a half-finger of persistent white foam that settles to a thick collar, leaving behind spotty lace. The body is a hazed copper color.
S - Bourbon, oak, maple, vanilla, and some faint cherries. As it warms up a little bit of caramel malt character emerges.
T - The taste is heavy on vanilla and maple, with some tart and sweet cherry pie and sugary malt in in there as well.
M - Sticky, chewy, medium-full body. Light tannic and sticky finish. Not much overt alcohol heat.
D - This was pretty solid, but I think 4oz is the appropriate serving size. It's very sweet and would become cloying if it were served in 12oz bottles.

Tasty and refreshing beer sampled on tap at Founders. Nice golden color with minimal head and just a little spotty lingering lacing. Smells of cherry, caramel and a little bourbon. Tastes of cherry, biscuit malt, caramel and a hint of hops. The bourbon taste is very mild. No bitterness and no cloying cough medicine feel. Smooth mild mouthfeel and good amount of carbonation. I expected more bourbon character but was pleasantly surprised that the cherry taste was restrained.
