Poured from a 12oz bottle into a freshly washed pint glass.
Poured a golden orange (pale amber) with some chill haze. Settled with a half inch white head, moderate lacing.
The smell is that of Centennial hops and fruity esters; citrus grapefruit. Enhanced with the dry-hopping technique used by Founder's. Excellent Amecan IPA aroma! This is what should be expected...
The taste is a good clean Centennial. For those that may not know the Centennial hop (This beer is named after it) is basically a Cascade hop on steroids! A much higher alpha acid than the Cascade at around 11-12 AAU's respectively where the Cascade is a modest 4-7 AAU's.
The Centennial hop offers perfection in an IPA with it's high alpha and aromatic attributes alike. You can taste the distinctive grapefruit characteritics definatly pronounced and pairs nicely with the american base malt and crystal malt making it more full in body.
I would like to suggest pairing this beer with some greek food. A good feta cheese smothered greek salad for starters folowed by some seared meat on a stick.
I love Amrican IPA's so I am biased when it comes to this style. With that said the drinkability this beer is dangerous at 7.2% ABV. Smooth and refreshingly delicious.
Enjoy and get it on!
