Between this and Bell's Two-Hearted, I am convinced that Michigan matches at worst and very likely surpasses its West Coast counterparts.
This pours an aesthetically gorgeous deep golden orange with some haze. Looks like a Hawaiian sunset in a glass. Topped by a pillowy, rocky eggshell-colored head that never diminishes a millimeter, leaving a lattice of lacing clinging to the glass. Compelling aromas of floral, piney, fruity Centennial hops (I've rarely detected such complexity in a hop aroma) perfectly complemented by toffee and dark, sweet candied fruit in the malt. The taste is similarly complex with its tartness, bitterness and malt backbone and equally inviting. Really flawless on both accounts. Crisp, brisk mouthfeel with slight oiliness. Very drinkable but deceptively powerful at 7.2 pct ABV. I'd drink these all night if I never had anywhere to go.
I love this beer. Did I say that already? This is really a winner and is up there in my AIPA pantheon with Two-Hearted, Smuttynose Finest Kind and Racer 5.
This six-pack was worth the 11 bucks -- just wish it lasted longer.

In a can-shaped glass.
A- Amber body, some cloudiness and no carbonation visible. Foamy light head that plateaus and leaves lots of lace.
S- Orange citrus and sweet caramel plus subtle pineyness.
T- Mellow citrus and a good dose of caramel. Pineyness is there too. The nose and tongue are very consistent. But good.
M- This beer is bitter, but not overwhelming. Average carbonation. Medium-bodied and with a hint of booziness.
Overall, a top-notch IPA and one that can stand above the rest of the crowd.

A very nice IPA. The appearance was light orange with a head that lasted a while then left trails down the glass. The smell was really nice with a lot of floral and herb components. The taste was full of hops that left a very nice even taste that ended in an enjoyable crisp finish. The mouthfeel was also nice. For an IPA at seven percent, it was delightfully medium bodied with a refreshing amount of fizz. Would definitely recommend.
