A - Dark copper, cloudy transparency, with a short head that fades quickly, but retains a thin film that establishes extensive lacing.

S - Mostly pine and orange zest out front, with caramel malt beneath.

T - The order reverses in the taste, with the malt coming to the front as a sweet, almost like honey, but balanced with pine and citrus zest flavors. The close is mild bitterness, but nothing too harsh or aggressive.

M - Quite drinkable, with moderate carbonation, but a slight oily feel on the tongue.

O - A decent, restrained IPA that focuses on balance over fruit bombs. A good choice if ultra-bitter brews puts you off of modern IPAs.

I am slotting this beer on my #2 IPA shelf, only because I tend to favor more hoppy less malty IPAs. However, this IPA is extremely well balanced. Aroma is of bready malt with a bit of orange and citrus. The taste is very smooth, the sweetness and hops compliment each other nicely. This is a very drinkable IPA, just not one of my absolute favorites.

This beer has a great bottle label.

A - Dark amber/Copper, burned orange color. Off white head. This beer leaves quite a bit of lacing on the glass as you drink it down.
S - Light carmel and malt.
T - Smooth hops with more than a malty compliment.
M - This drink swirls in nicely and goes down smooth. Easy carbonation.
O - A subdued, balanced IPA worth

I can tell this is an older school IPA. It is easy on the pine, grapefruit, and zest. This get a high drinkability rating from me. A subdued IPA which would make it a go-to IPA for me. If only they sold it in Washington...

Appearance: Poured a good inch or so of lasting foam. Slightly turbid orange-amber color.

Smell: Citrus, orange zest, subtle malty/biscuit, fresh cut grass

Taste: Very well balanced between sweet maltiness and citrusy bitterness. More malt flavor up front while the bitterness sticks around in the back of your palate. Pleasantly bitter, not overpowering or absent. Citrus, orange, subtle pine.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, balanced between being sweet/dry.

Overall: Excellent beer that I could sit down and enjoy multiples of. Really enjoyed this one, well balanced IPA that invites me to keep drinking more. Nothing extreme, just an exceptionally solid brew. Highly recommend this one.

Founders Centennial IPA has a thick, cream-colored head, a clear, amber appearance, with some stray bubbles, and some lacing strings left behind. The aroma is of sweet, juicy, herbal hop oil, and sweet, bready malt. Taste is of all these things, with a bursting juiciness, nice, not harsh, bitterness, pepper, and possibly an onion note. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Founders Centennial IPA finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and rather drinkable. This is so wonderful!

Appearance: Has a solid dark amber color with a medium thick head.

Smell: Strong smell of grass and also has a hint of oranges. Clear hops smell as well.

Taste: Has an initial citrus and floral taste with a spices aftertaste. The hops and bitterness and clearly evident in this beer as well.

Overall: I had this beer for the first time after a round of golf and it was very refreshing. Has a great mix of flavors and an awesome amount of hoppy-ness.

Bottled within last 2 months

Poured slowly, decant. Minimal head. Light pumpkin orange color. Clear.

Aroma is mostly the grapefruit. little bit of bready malt. Nothing really strong in the nose but hints as to what is to come.

Taste again citrus and grapefruit up front. Nice bit of bitterness rounds the hop profile. Bread and crackers on the malt bill among with a touch of caramel sweetness. Back end grassy hops.

Moderate carbonation, and moderate body. A bit syrupy, slick.

This was one of my first IPAs a couple years ago. Glad I got to finally review. This one is an old reliable for me. Hits all the aspects I like. Some sweetness, some citrus, some bitterness. All work together in this beer.
