Appearance: Pours a amber/orange color.

Overall: A very smooth IPA. They balance the beer with just the right amount of sweet malts and bitter hops. Nothing is overwhelming here. Highly recommended. Try it.

Hands down one of the best IPAs I've ever had. The balance between hops and malt is perfection.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle.

A: Pours a goldish amber with one finger of off white head. Retention and lacing are solid.

S: Citrus, orange, mango, grapefruit, sweet bread, and pine like hops.

T: Earthy hops, citrus, orange peel, sweet malts, floral hops and grapefruit on the finish.

M: Medium bodied, mid- to high carbonation, crisp and bitter on the finish.

O: A great IPA that stands out among the crowd. A great beer that enjoy on the regular.

Hops are the main player here (of course), but the malt backbone contributes just the right amount of malty sweetness for a perfect balance. As the beer warms, the malt becomes deeper and richer and gives the beer a bit the character of a porter.

This beer pours slightly orange, off white head, decent lacing, flavor is sweet and malty. I think the taste is a little bit more sweet than bitter.

Nice IPA of a somewhat transparent amber/orange color and a small beige foam with some bubbles.
Smell is extremely hoppy and fruity (notes of grapefruit, orange, papaya and banana).
Taste is a bit more complex; somewhat crispy and malty with grainy notes. Fruits and hops are still there but are not in highlight.
Body is kind of light and carbonation appropriate. Alochol is strangely hidden - probably by the bitterness that is at high and nice level.
That's a good IPA, but let's not exagerate.

I'm not a big fan of IPAs but picked this up curious to see founders take on the style. What a pleasant surprise, this is the best IPA I've had yet. Malty goodness with a strong hop presence that isn't at all overwhelming like many of the style. Phenomenal.

The aroma is hops, underlying malts and some citrus and earthiness. The flavor is relatively balanced between the hops and malts, although it does lean towards the hops. Among the easiest drinking IPAs out there, a very solid IPA overall.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Look: Comes in a semi-hazy reddish brown color with a finger of off white head that leaves rings of lacing all the way down the glass.

Smell: Ruby red grapefruit and pine, and a bit of floral and malt.

Taste: Ruby red grapefruit juice and pine cone upfront. The caramel malt body is heavy, but when fresh, the hops keep the sweetness in check. Finishes semi-dry with a piney aftertaste and a touch of alcohol warmth. Hopped exclusively with Centennial, this is comparable to Bell's Two Hearted Ale, but that is more citrusy and juicy where this is more dry and piney. This actually tastes closer to Sierra Nevada Torpedo.
My only minor gripe is that I would prefer the alcohol be a bit more hidden.

Feel: Medium-bodied, dry and resinous, moderate carbonation.

Overall: This isn't my favorite IPA in the world, but it's still pretty good for what it is. Definitely worth buying if you're in the mood for a nice piney IPA.

A fine IPA. Not as good as Stone's but its up there. Full of flavor that lasts, dry mouthfeel, and a very nice dark golden color. Give this one a shot

Don't love this stuff...have tried before, but decided to give another shot. Kind of a skunky aftertaste to me. Note to self: Do not buy again.

Not a huge hop head but this beer is fantastic. Hoppy, but not in a bad way for a non-hop head. Also a little fruity. I'm digging it.

I just tapped a keg of Centennial today, and not impressed with it at all. It is one dimensional with little aroma, and moderate lingering hops at the end. I have read some other reviews about the delicate malts giving way to the hops. I couldn't disagree more. It didn't "give way," it simply wasn't there to begin with. Because of this, Centennial is at best just another bland beer trying to make up for that with an obscene amount of dry hopping. IBU of 65? It sure seems to finish higher, but I guess when it has nothing else going on, 65 would be about right. Looks like a perfect candidate for my "Kill The Keg" discount program.

This IPA is defying logic by giving me all of the hops aftertaste, but very little in the initial flavor. It's a tough pill to swallow, and is outdone by Sierra Nevada's Torpedo, which has the same level of IBUs and is significantly more flavorful.

In the same class as Stone IPA, and I mean that as quite a compliment. Stone is no joke, and neither is this brew. This is one fine IPA.

Burnt orange in color with small white head that dissipates quickly. Twelve ounce can poured into a pint glass. Smell is faint bread, pine, citrus. Taste follows the nose and finishes malty and dry. For 65 IBU it drinks higher than that. Good carbonation and very refreshing. This can get you in trouble quickly on a hot day. The fact that this beer comes in 12 pack cans and is carried by my grocer down the street is a big plus.

Not seeing this one, this didn't taste like an ipa to me. It did get better as I drank it, but I would take Founders All Day IPA over Centennial every time.

Poured from a 12oz. glass into a snifter.

A - Pours a clear, copper orange, light, off-white head.

S - Fresh, juicy, piney hops.

T - Follows the nose, but to more extreme extents; hops are very fresh and lively, with slightly fruity, but mostly floral notes. Nice buttery malt backbone to give this a slight sweetness on the finish to counteract the bitterness a bit.

M - Smooth, medium-bodied.

O - The malt character is what really makes this beer stand out. The sweet, delicate malt really lets the hops shine. If only more IPA's had this kind of balance.
