Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Caramel body with rose head. Floral nose, sweet and mellow fruit on the tongue with pleasingly resonant bitter finish. Looking forward to the rest of the 6 pack.

12oz that was bottled 8/31/15

Poured into glass, golden amber color with white head. Nice floral/citrus smell. Very smooth beer.

Definitely a beer worth revisiting and having again.

I am not I repeat not a fan of Ipa style beer. With that said it did not get dumped down the drain. 7. 2 percent alcohol it's an unfiltered fairly clear caramel with a good 2 finger head. This has a slight pepper, hop and flower or herb smell. It has a medium mouth feel with a slight dry finish with a typical Ipa slight bitterness at the end. This is a very complex beer and with that being said I will give it a C simply because I think this is the first Ipa I have been able to finish and I am sure if your an Ipa lover you'll give it an A.

Poured from a can into a tulip. Canned 03/14/15.

L: Nice, foamy, off white head. Head quickly disappears. Golden amber color with a tinge of red.

S: Very sweet floral nose. Some earthy tones. Really nice smell overall.

T: Sweet and malty balanced with some grapefruit bitterness.

F: Smooth, but nicely carbonated.

Overall this is a knock out beer. Don't be a fool and buy just one.

Pretty dark body- orange-amber. Plenty of delicate lace. Nose is hoppy orange but equally balanced by toasty malt. Flavor puts more emphasis on the citrus hops, but the malt are now caramel and still strong. Good bitterness, also great malt sweetness to oppose it. Medium body, kinda sticky, but smooth as well. The head lasts and lasts, which adds to the smoothness.
Great balance, great feel, everything was great.

12oz that was bottled 09/03/15.
Look: frothy head and color is as red a amber beers.
Smell: I got some citrus.
Taste: Very malty and I do get some bitter hops at the end. At tad too sweet for my liking.
Feel: Right amount of carbonation and pretty easy drinking.
Overall: Not impress at all. I'm starting to not like Founders IPAs. Overly malty!

in a dimple mug from the bottle

weak creamy head amber color, prominent lacing

very fragrant, immediate juicy citrus and warm malt, a little brown sugar almost

prominent but not painful bitterness, marries nicely with the malt, much less citrus than the nose would lead you to believe, some biscuit and a subtle sweetness, some pine in the bitterness, a bit tart in places but in a good citric way

watery, filling in the mouth

good, not great, a good IPA would be a good intro to the style for someone prepared for bitterness but new to IPAs, not too bitter, but bitter enough

Clear amber/orange color. Poured straight into a pint glass with a nice foamy off white head. Medium carbed, small bubbles. Aroma (& flavor) reminded me generally of Bell's Two Hearted Ale. Pungent citrus-orange, pine, licorice, and generally sweet. Taste is just like aroma, sweetness is up front and there is a pleasant, not overwhelming bitterness at the end of the swallow that lingers. I want to a/b this with a Two hearted. Where I live a 6 pack of this is about $2 cheaper than Two Hearted, and this is very similar and very good as well. The bitterness really does linger, but I like it, not over the top. You really get a nice blend of sweet and bitter with this beer. I'd say the mouth feel is medium and a bit sticky. I'll make room in the fridge for this again, without question.

Very nice. This was fruity and earthy for an IPA. Orange in appearance with a nice half inch head. Little lacing left behind. Very drinkable. Ended with a nice slightly bitter finish.

Worth revisiting.

I'm not going to write a long winded review, but this beer is a real winner. It has a delicious balance of rich, almost charred malt, and a hop profile that is unique - but very tasty. Perfect amount of balanced hop flavors blend with the malts. I had this after FBS, and this beer was quite a bit better overall.

Had this on cask at World of Beer in Gilbert.

Poured a nice copper hue with a creamy white head. Lots of clingy lacing on the glass.

Lots of tropical fruit hops in the nose. Also some pine and grass in the nose.

Taste was hop forward with a piney bitterness up front and it was balanced by some nice malt sweetness. Finish is grassy hops.

This definitely hit the spot and having it on cask was a definite treat.

Poured from 12oz bottle into my special Proclamation Ales tulip glass usually reserved for Derivative or Stalk! Dark orange and hazy from bottom up. Very mild citrus aroma. Crisp, dry, & hop hop hoppy. Definite pleasant bitterness to the finish. A little light flatness to the feel. Overall I'm happy with this. Really solid no frills IPA.

An exceptional iteration of an IPA brewed to showcase the wonderful flavors of Centennial hops. The citrus notes are ever-present and combined with a crisp drinkability that makes one want to keep this brew handy for all occasions, or even for no occasion whatsoever. Definitely a standard go-to brew in my humble opinion

12 ounce bottle purchased from a local deli, chilled to approximately 50 degrees and poured into a Spiegelau stemmed Pilsner glass. A pleasant, balanced (not overly bitter), very drinkable beer. Would drink again, but would opt for an Ithaca Flower Power if both were available.

This beer looks like a great fall IPA. The smell is wonderful - lots of grapefruit and lots of malt. I wish the taste was a little fruitier, but overall it's a very solid beer. Extremely smooth and balanced.

Hoppity, hop, hop, hop. If you like your hops then this is the tops. A great beer to welcome back football season. Not your panty-waste micro/macro brewery IPA catering to those who wish to be "stylish" by drinking an IPA, but a full-bodied India Pale Ale with a hoppy kick and the ABV to match. Easy on the nose and biting on the tongue with cloudy disposition. All in all a very good brew.

Much like two hearted ale, centennial is great. Just the right balance of hops and malt. The taste is superb. A classic beer much the same and I'm glad to pick up a 12 pack of week old cans.

While new wave brewers dick around with mango/passionfruit/tropcail juice bomb bullshit, there's this: piney, citrusy, and a brown sugar malt base. This is a delicious IPA that puts a lot of the nouveau IPA stuff to shame. It shared that interesting brown sugar note with some other wonderful brews, notably stuff like Bear Republic's Hop Rod Rye or Red Rocket. Anyway, super satisfying drink that I hope never makes way for the some tropical fruit salad IPA that's so du jour these days.

L: it has a medium dark amber color with a one finger frothy off white head
S: strong crisp hop scent almost piney with just a small hint of citrus fruit.
T: the beginning flavor is saturated by carbonation followed by light hop flavor finishing with a slight bitterness which transforms into an aftertaste of slight lime tatse.
F: the mouth feel is typical of an ipa. Not too thick not too thin allthough the carbonation creates too much of a powdery sense.
O: this beer to me is mediocre. While it's clear it's an ipa, the body of this beer is dull just near the end of swallow leaving it's overall satisfaction questionable.

Straight from the can, smelled like earth, grapefruit, citrus, bread, tasted a little piney, grapefruity, a little urine maybe, nice malty backbone, sorta sticky, balanced, enjoyed very much, I drank 4 in a row, glad i revisited.

Poured into a teku glass.

A: Opaque golden amber with a one finger eggshell white head that lingers. The thick foamy top has the best retention I've seen in a while. Thick, foamy lacing.

S: Grapefruit, piney hops, floral, bready malts.

T: Follows nose. Creamy, low bitterness. A clean finish. A smooth, easy drinker, even at 7.2%.

M: Medium with medium carbonation.

O: If this were a lower ABV it would be a terrific session beer. Still a nice west coast hopper.

Picked up a six-pack at the Rhinelander Trig's Cellar 70. The bottling date states that this one is a little over two-and-a-half months old. Poured right from the fridge into my Samuel Smith pint glass.

L: Pours a deep apricot amber with three fingers of dense, billowy off-white head that sticks around for a good long while and leaves substantial lacing on the glass. Crystal-clear, with profuse visible carbonation.

S: Pine and tropical fruit (pineapple and mango are most easily discernible) hop notes and cracker and caramel malts are prominent in the nose. There are also earthy/herbal notes present. Just a touch of clear alcohol in the mix.

T: Cracker and slightly more robust malts are there at the front. Accompanying these are some assertive pine and tropical fruit hop flavors. Pineapple and mango are the fruit flavors that stand out the clearest. The middle brings on more earthy and herbal flavor notes, along with a bit of clear alcohol flavor. The back end has got assertive pine hop flavor, which balances nicely with the malt profile. This one has some bitter pine hop lingering in the aftertaste.

F: On the lighter side of medium-bodied, this one feels just a touch watery and flat. It does have some nice smoothness, but I wish there was a bit more creaminess. Just a bit of stick to this one, but it's far from syrupy.

O: This is an IPA that I've hadn't gotten around to trying again for some time. The first time I had it, it must have been an old bottle because it didn't taste nearly as good as this one. This IPA delivers some great hop aroma and flavor, particularly the fruit notes. If you're looking for a solid single IPA with a relatively high ABV, this is one you could return to again and again. I definitely recommend.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle to tulip glass.

A: Nice cloudy burnt orange with a small tan head.
S: Fresh grapefruit peel. Light aromas of peach, pineapple, and fresh grass.
T: Nice malty sweetness up front. Middle of the taste is fruity with a grapefruit-like bitterness. Ends nice and crisp.
M: Medium. The unfiltered aspect makes it a bit creamy.
O: Nice pretty balanced beer. I was hoping for a more hoppier beer, but maybe I had an old bottle. Still pretty good.

a: burnt orange/caramel color that has a slight chill haze. 1.5 finger solid off-white head. looks like its almost strong enough to rest a coin on

s: big shot of tropical fruits upfront. juicy pineapple, apricot and passionfruit. a nice sweet malt presence underneath the hops. a very tiny brown sugar note in here as well. at the end is a fresh cracker aroma as well. great aroma on this

t: not quite as juicy as the nose. there is a mixture of pineapple and bitter grapefruit that you pick up on right away followed by a nice sweet caramel which helps to immediately balance out the initial bitterness. towards the end it is slightly herbal - like tea leafs. there is a mild residual bitterness that lingers in the mouth

m: medium mouthfeel, with a normal carbonation level for an IPA

o: really good stuff here. bitter, sweet, and refreshing. it has a nice transition of flavors that work well together and leave you wanting another sip. definitely recommend this one. if you like bitter beers you'll enjoy this, and if you don't i believe you still can enjoy this as well

A nicely balanced and mellow lunchtime IPA. Healthy orange color, not overly intense. Very mellow on the nose but then again I'm nursing a cold today so take that for what it's worth. Bit of citrus and pine in the flavor.  Reasonable lacing. Medium mouthfeel. Medium to light booze. Tastes a lot like a more mellow implementation of a Racer 5.
