Thanks to dogdoc for this one! Poured from 12 oz. bottle into CCB pint glass.

A: Burnished gold, bit of haze, and a nice white half-finger head that fades to foam but leaves a good amount of lacing. Not much visible carbonation.

S: Flower and pine hoppiness, a bit of caramel malt, but overall the aroma seems to be lacking somewhat.

T: Follows the nose, but wow, is it better! Pine and tropical fruit hops, and some sweetness from the caramel malts.

M: Medium to slightly thick mouthfeel. A relatively lower amount of carbonation, but the bitter tingly mouthfeel seems to replace it. Only a mild alcohol presence.

O: A solid IPA, one that I would pick up again if it were available. There was no date on this bottle. I don't know if it was old (before Founders was printing on the bottle) or if it just got missed. I do wonder if that would have helped the aroma. Either way, it was good but I don't think that it rises to the level of outstanding in a packed class.

A- pours a hazy Amber orange in color with a 2 finger cream colored head that reduces to a thin layer skimming the top.

S- bold fresh citrus hops, pine, Buiscuity malt, Grapefruit juice, a caramel-like sweetness makes this one very intriguing.

T- piney hops up front, grassy notes, oily citrus, strong malty backbone, Finsihes dry with an herbal hop linger.

M- Medium body, light carbonation, creamy finish, hides ABV quite well and very drinkable.

O- a great example of the style. Drinks more like an imperial IPA, but more drinkable.

Bottled 7/13/12. Poured from bottle into standard pint glass.

Appearance: A deep, hazy, orange color. This beer is unfiltered, and it looks really nice. No lacing, and a quick dissipating head on this first bottle though.

Smell: Seriously piney, caramel-like, and sweet. It's an odd combination, but it's strangely compelling. I approve. Maybe a little citrus too, as well as alcohol.

Taste: I'm not drinking this quite at the recommended temperature -- it's a touch warm -- but it's a total hop-head beer. No questions. This is a serious IPA, and that's all there is to it. There's some sweetness and malt there, but it's just loaded with hops. It's a lot of bitter piney-ness, but there's some citrus there as well. There's also some sort of spice, because I get a little burn with the bitterness when drinking this as well. Can't say I've had that experience with the other IPA's I've had.

Mouthfeel: Solid like the rest of the beer. Medium bodied, and perfect for this specific beer. It actually gets a fantastic creamy feel if you aggressively pour it, and it feels like it was out of a tap. Fantastic to say the least.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoy this beer, and it's not even all that cold. I can't wait to finish this six-pack. Only a buck more than Sam Adams and the like, but the quality is top notch. When I'm in a bitter beer drinking mood, I may make this my go-to. It's a damn pleasant brew.
