A: Pours a beautiful red copper body with a good cream color head with medium retention.

S: A delicious pineapple bouquet. not too strong to make you sickens, but very pleasant.

T: Bitter, bitter everywhere. I expected a more citric flavour to make the balance with the bitterness, but it never came which compromisses the equilibrium a little, a excelent choice for a really hop day.

M:A resinous pine oily taste with a quite bitter aftertaste. On the mouth the beer let's its oily sensation in the end. This beer is stronger than some DIPAs and without the citric beggining common in the style it is a quite different beer.

O: Strong but very drinkable, this beer is an homage to the hops and the bitterness, still it is a complex beer in some way, with its various layers of bitterness and its oily resin feel.

Presentation: Nice looking label with good colors and great eye-catching graphics, gives a bit of brewery info. Neck label has Founders logo and IBU and ABV info. Bottle has bottled on date(11/20/12).

Appearance: I allowed to warm for 10min before pouring from 12oz bottle into a 16oz snifter. Pours out a hazy copper amber color with a 1½ finger off white foam head that is rather light and airy. Head retention was 2min 21sec before fading to a thick ring and thick coating. Good lacing.

Smell/Aroma: Smells of sweet orange citrus hops with hints of grapefruit and a sour cherry smell. Slightly floral with a sweet malt scent.

Flavor/Taste: Taste starts out with a pine/citrus hop combo bite that is heads toward sweet orange and grapefruit citrus aspect at the mid point. Heads back toward a pine resin hop finish. Also has a floral hop and cracker malt backbone. Very good.

MouthFeel/Drinkability: Medium bodied and smooth with a medium carbonation and a dry finish. Extremely drinkable.

Overall/Comments: I really enjoyed this offering that had a very interesting nose and an excellent flavor profile that stayed true to the style. Even though this was an older bottle it held up exceptionally well. Very impressed. Classified as an American IPA @ 7.2% ABV. Consumed 4/26/2013.
