I've had this bottled a number of times but now also on tap at the Grog Shop. The tap version is VERY similar to bottled, but somehow seems tamer and more balanced. Smoother too.

Regardless, Centennial is a hoppy, pungent AIPA as they should be. Interesting, robust and unique. This is one of my favorite Founders, along with Double Trouble. Nice.

12oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter. bottled 6-25-12.

pours out a beautifully clear burnt orange color, maybe even a slight hue of red noticable. a nice 1-2 fingers of slightly off white head that has some good retention and leaves some nice thick webby lace. looks ideal.

citrus, pine and some woody hops in the aroma. a little caramel malt trying to poke through the all the hop aromas.

wow, simple, yet amazing. before i knew it, the glass was gone, very sessionable. again, grapefruit citrus and pine lead the way with some woody hops as well. just the right amount of a slightly sticky caramel malt makes a nice balance. finishes with a slightly sharp hop bitterness.

medium in body, resinous feel, slightly sticky, slightly dry.

this deserves every bit of praise it gets. just an all around super enjoyable, super drinkable IPA. thank god it finally made its way to buffalo.

On tap at the Blue Monk in Buffalo. Poured into a nonic, and enjoyed on one of the hottest days of the summer.

Amber-russet in colour, nice sturdy inch head of foam, sticky lace graces the sides of the glass. Great looking brew.

Nose is pine, citrus, lemon, caramel, juicy hops and all sorts of American IPA goodness.

A terrific American IPA that is complex enough to savour, but in this heat and when it's this tasty, it disappeared from my glass all too quickly. Lovely caramel malt, great hop presence - though not that full blast I always crave, still delightful. The lemon-citrus character of the brew makes a bold statement, but generally speaking this brew is impeccably balanced.

Add this to my list of go-to American IPAs - lovely mix of flavours, and sheer drinkability. Great stuff.

Poured a nice amber with a slight head and minimal lacing.

Pine, citrus and resin smells. Smelled a bit stronger than a typical IPA, but it smelled very good.

Very well balanced flavor, just a bit weak in most the profiles. The fruity sweet flavor was a bit weak and the bitter, dry finish was pretty weak, but the balance between the two worked out very well.

Easy drinking, perfect amount of carbonation. Not too thin, not too thick.

This is a very good, very drinkable IPA. Good balance, great nose. Not quite as over the top in the hop flavor that some IPA's can be.

A: A beautiful hazy deep orange with a half-inch light khaki head that fades quickly and leaves little lacing.

S: Awesome citrus and pine. Not overpowering. Sweet malts backing it up.

T: Caramel malts up front followed by nice citrus and pine. The hops really come through at the back of the tongue. Finishes bitter. Nice, classic IPA.

M: Medium to full bodied beer that leaves some lingering bitterness. You don't really get the booziness from it either.

Very good IPA. Basically, this is kind of a quintessential IPA and if you're looking for that bitter, citrusy, piney, hoppy taste with some balancing caramel malts, look no further. Again, this is what I think of when I think "IPA."
