Very easy pour. Into a Duvel tulip...

Two-finger, soft-white head. spotty lacing, nothing amazing. However, very viscous. Brew moves like gel and grows when swirled. Brew is cloudy and hazed. Not overly impressive.

Just like the name represents, it's centennial... Lots of centennial, dare I say only centennial? It's a wonderful nose for not have much complexity.

Lots of cotton candy flavors on top of heavy floral flavors. Perfect medium carbonation on top of bitter sweetness. Creamy, buttery, and sharp.

A very basic one hop IPA that delivers a nice flavor punch. Recommended. Thank you Matt for sharing as a nice extra. A nice take on a relativity basic IPA.

Appears a fairly darker shade of orange topped by a bright white one finger-width head. Not much in the way of chill haze or yeast clouding things up. Lacing is decent, and leaves small patches here and there. Retention is good, but not great.

The smell isn't super pungent or in your face, but it's quite nice overall. There's a bit of light caramel and toasted bread behind a bouquet of citric qualities. I get lemon, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, green grape and lots of peach. Slight hints of toffee exist too. It's really well rounded in this department.

It tastes more similar to an east coast IPA, as the malt backbone is definitely ever-present despite a nice hop profile to balance. First there's some caramel and bready bits which quickly fade into a little hit of citrus, but really not nearly as much as the aroma would indicate. Things get a bit more bitter at the finish and this is also where I start to taste the toffee coming into play. Balanced the whole way, I would just prefer a lot more of what I smell for the hop profile coming through in the flavor.

The mouthfeel is great, fairly chewy for an IPA which is a bit of a change of pace compared to the west coast IPAs I am used to drinking. Carbonation level is spot on, and the texture of the beer just feels right as it passes over my tongue.

Overall this IPA isn't going to knock you out of your chair like many of the other more extreme IPAs coming out nowadays but it's still a very pleasing beer to drink and consider. Founders can seem to do no wrong with any beer they brew, and this is no exception, a very well crafted IPA.
