Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a nonic glass.
A: Clear, medium golden color with one finger of diminishing white foam head. Light lacing remains on the glass.
S: Mild and contrasting in a surprising way, with light floral/pine qualities facing off against rubbery/leathery earth tones. The smell tends to get lost in the flavor, once the beer is sipped.
T: Begins very dry, with toasted grain and predominantly floral hops aromatics. Acidity is aggressive into the middle, where hops flavors turn more coniferous as precocious bitterness emerges. Grain is resurgent in the finish--more of a rustic pilsner malt quality--while bitterness is pure, medicinal, and aggressive to the point of seeming out of scale. Green plant stems and key lime citrus fruit linger on the palate.
M: Thin viscosity, acidic and sticky on the palate, with moderate carbonation.
D/O: A close cousin to Founder's Harvest Ale, this low-ABV IPA boasts many of the favorable malt qualities of that other, excellent beer. Hops qualities, while evident, are not well established--a complication similar to that of Ballast Point's Even Keel session IPA. Add Lagunitas' similarly-named Daytime IPA to the conversation, and one has an interesting, thematic trio of light ales with hops occupying the lead role.

12oz can poured into a tulip glass. THis is the third one I've had today.
A: Translucent rust body with a two finger soapy bone colored head. Head went down quickly to a cap leaving good lacing.
S: Grapefruit and pine, along with some floral and citrus scents.
T: Slightly bitter some hopes are present in the taste.
M: Proper carbonation body while a bit thin for the style is thicker then many beers for the ABV
O Its a good IPA, I like that is session able however Its too expensive for what it is. Also its got a fair amount of body so while consumption is easier then most IPAs its harder then your average AAL, this makes it a bit more work to catch a buzz, although this could be seen as a positive for some I suppose.
