Pours a straw color, just a hint of haze, with a pretty weak head, but not a bad looking beer at all. Smell is a little yeasty, but mostly citus zest hops (mostly grapefruit). The smell's not in your face, but it's solid and awesome; way more than you'd expect from a "light" beer like this. Taste is a bit of malt, a bit of yeast and a nice citrusy hop flavor. If you're used to drinking big DIPA's, this is going to taste weak at first, but the right tastes are there and the hops are really enjoyable (probably one of the strongest grapefruit flavors I've had in a beer). Mouthfeel was a bit thin, but what do you expect given the %alcohol?
I think this beer should be evaluated in a different catergory from other IPA's. It's not meant to compete with them. The abv is 4.7% for Pete's sake! As a "fishing trip on the lake-session ale with some hop flavor, this is a great beer!

I have a special fondness like alot of people do for this GR brewery.Poured into a standard pint glass a dull medium golden with almost no head to speak of,I gotta say alittle unhappy with the pour.Tropical fruit-like hop aromas along with grass to give the hops more punch,a lightly sweet malt base underneath, nice hop complexity.Tangerine hops dominate the palate with mild caramel sweetness and toasted cereal grains underneath the good hop profile.Yeah this is a great American style session ale with its big hop presence,Iam gonna buy a few six packs before grillin season.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. The color is a hazy amber/copper mixture, along the lines of what you'd expect for an American IPA. Minimal head and minimal lacing left on the glass. Smells very earthy, even more so than many full-on IPAs. Heavy on the hops and very piney, full of oils and resins. Tons of citrus on the nose also, especially as it warms up, mainly grapefruit and pineapple. The taste follows right along with a heavy dose of pine, hops, and dank resins, balanced superbly by the citrus flavors of the grapefruit and pineapple. Slight warmth, which is funny considering the low ABV. Carbonation is nice and provides a good bite. The aftertaste is slightly woody and definitely bitter.
My only main complaint is that the beer tastes a bit "watery" at times, but nonetheless, is still packed with flavor for a 4.7% ABV beer. This is definitely something I could drink all day.

A: Golden with a light haze.
S: A strong citrus hop aroma with some pineapple, tropical fruit notes. There is a moderate amount of a herbaceous, grassiness from dry hopping and just a slight bit of malt sweetness.
T: This is a great hop delivery device, with strong citrus and tropical fruit flavored hops and a moderately-strong hops bitterness. The isn't much in the way of malt, just a light clean sweetness. The balance is bitter with a dry finish.
O: A great take in a lower abv IPA which highlights the hops even more than a maltier strong beer would.

In a pint glass this beer was gold in color. It had a medium-sized white head, and there was a fair amount of lace.
Aroma nice, but a little lacking. Faint citrus and some sweet malt.
Improvement in the taste. The citrus came through more, as grapefruit, orange, and lime. Some biscuit in the background.
Nicely hopped. Definitely an all-day beer.
