The balance of "India" meets the drinkability of "Pale" in a beer that the British would argue is not a session ale because of its greater-than-4% alcohol. But make no mistake about it: I could session the hell out if this beer!

Like many a pale ale or IPA, the beer pours the common mid-amber color, but however has exceptional clarity like that of pale. A fluffed white head springs from the beer beneath and caps the beer with a light and airy appearance. It's certainly a charming little ale.

All Day is all IPA in aroma. Hops abound with the zesty scent of fresh grapefruit oils, tangerines, apricots, mangoes, and pineapple. Its juicy citrus and tropical blend seems sun kisses by the sweet honey scent of caramel malts. While the malt influence informs the hops, it does nothing to rival them- allowing the nose to become a true showcase for American hop aroma.

The same racy hop character that's expressed in the nose also come to life in taste in much the same bright character. Although starting off with supple caramel taste, the malts soon turn "graham cracker" dry before introducing vibrant hop taste. All of the citrus and tropical goodness in aromas seem to pop on the tongue with light acidity and clean bitterness to close its taste. Lightly resinous and a quick procession across the palate seems to usher in a highly refreshing, cleanness and lightness in taste.

Likewise, the beer springs off of the tongue as the carbonation lifts the beer and thwart into dry textures and effortless drinkability. The beer prefers dryness from shortly after its early palate until its snappy finish. Light warmth and grain textures signal closure far sooner than it should.

Where the beer prefers a straight-forward taste of hop dominance over any malt balances, ester complexity, spice notes, or variations in grain caramelization- it does so brilliantly and confidently. It's a beer that draws the bottom of the glass far too soon and proves the notion that you can't have just one. I can drink this all day long!

A -light gold with a 1-1.5 finger head.

S - lots of citrus hops. a little orange zest, slight pineapple. And a nice pine aroma.

T - A very hop dominated beer. With a slight malty sweetness. The citrus hops power through and make this beer much more bitter than you'd expect a beer of this abv to be.

M - fairly dry. Light bitterness. Overall very smooth.

O - Very drinkable, my go to for outings can't beat that 15/pk.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip.

This is the only founders beer I dont get in my area for some reason.

A- Pours slightly hazy golden with a one finger slightly off white head. Dissipated rather quick.

S- Citrus hops, lemon and orange, a slight pine. Very fruity and hoppy. A slight sweetness.

T- A little sweet up front. Followed up by bitterness and a nice hop profile. The first thing I get is a sweet orange and maybe some lemon. The hops have a light tropic fruit flavor with pineapple and mango. Not really a strong taste but very pleasant. Malt body is slightly sweet and lacing of taste.

M- This is a small beer but doesn't feel watery. It drinks easy and is quite refreshing. This would go well with anything. Pleasant fruity aftertaste.

O- This is a great beer, I think I actually like this one as much as their rye and centennial IPA's. This is a great "small" beer.

A: pours a pale golden, nice and clear, minimal head...reduces to razor thin collar, no lacing

S: nose is hoppy, leans towards the citric side of things, notes of lemon, tangerine, peach, and orange peel, some sourdough bread in the background

T: tastes features a bright flash of fruity hop character up front, bitterness is restrained, malt profile is minimal, a slightly bitter finish

MF: light body, high carbonation

O: this is very refreshing and certainly fits the bill as an "all day IPA", not going to go down the road of controversy that is associated with calling this a session ale, but the bottom line is that it is light, flavorful, easy drinking, and refreshing

This is a good looking IPA, it smells great and taste great, just enough bitterness and still very very session worthy. Looking forward to them canning this beer this year. Will make for a good summer having some all day IPA in the cooler. Or on draft.

this beer is good for what it's meant for: a tasty, refreshing yet flavorful beer, and out of a can, it's a go to, easy to grab, great when fresh and cold and right outta the can. I prefer it that way. its not really big or complex, just a great beer to hang out and drink, got a 15pk of cans

this ipa from founders is pretty drinkable but there are so many others out there that drop kick your taste buds into submission- why would you phone it in? this beer isnt bad. it pours a nice golden color. the smell makes a lot of promises- its piney and has a lot of citrus. the taste comes on strong at first and has a slight kick at the end but isnt nearly as strong as some other ipa's out there...this beer is called everyday ipa, so i guess the jokes on me, theyre telling you right out the gate that there is nothing that special about this. its not a bad beer..but with so many great ipa's out there, this seems kinda pointless.

On tap at the 2014 Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest held at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, CA.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty, light, and easy to drink.

Nice to see lower alcohol IPAs making more of a showing in the market. Sometimes I just want something a little lighter, but with flavor. This is one of the better ones- particularly when very fresh. when you a lovely floral hop aroma and flavor- delicate, but definitely flavorful. It does fade fairly quickly on the shelf, so freshness is key. A nice option.

When fresh and out of a can, this beer is addictive. The can is empty before I know it. I truly love it when it's on point. The problem is that you never know if it will be great or mediocre til you buy it.

Pours a golden yellow with lots of white head. Lots of great hops on the nose. Some solid citrus and grapefruit smells. Very complex. A lot going on. Tastes similar to the smell. Tons of grapefruit and citrus hopes. Light and highly carbonated. A solid beer and I am VERY glad Founders is bottling this one

On-tap at the West Lakeview Liquors Founders BBQ event during CCBW.

A - Pours a golden/orange color, white head, thin cap, slight spotty lacing.

S - Solid dose of bitter hops, pine, citrus, orange peel. The hops, pine, and citrus are wonderful and create a very nice nose. Nothing too overpowering and very solid for a 4.8% beer.

T - Pine, citrus, slight dank hops. Tastes "bigger" then 4.8% by far. I would say this is a 7-8% beer rather then 5%, very impressive.

M - Light, crisp, refreshing, with an oily finish.

O - I had a couple pours of this one, as it's just so easy to drink. Didn't totally blow me away or anything, but for what it is, it's def an excellent beer.

Poured a golden body with foamy, lively head thanks to some good carbonation and lace all around. Love the balance of the light citric and piney hop aroma, possibly some grape although I can't really detect it more than a whiff, and a good caramel, bready malt backbone. Nice to see a classic, not overly hoppy or alcoholic IPA, still being made. The hops, citric, pine, touch of spice, are there for hopheads but the beer is mellow, easy to drink, and just downright smooth and wellbalanced with a good sweetness and finishes clean and crisp. As the name implies just an easy going beer that one could session all day (particularly nice on a hot, humid summer day).

Served on tap at Founders.

A: Pour was fairly translucent copper with a thin white fuzzy head that broke down to splotches and a thin film.

S: Earthy hops, flower, pine, malt, grains, and citrus scents.

T: A nice balanced drink that has some juicy citrus sweetness to it, finishing with nice bitter hops without getting out of hand. A nice flavor complex of spice, hops, malt, and citrus.

M: Massively refreshing and easy to drink. Lighter body with complex warming and aftertastes.

Amber-gold color, hazy. Lots of fine bubbles rising. Thick rocky head.

Piney, resin, citrus, some sweetness from the malts.

Hop forward, piney, resin, citrus, leafy. There some malt character, grainy and a bit caramel. Finish is crisp and dry. Body is medium-light, dry, crisp and refreshing.

It's a very good beer. Highly drinkable.

Beer pours nicely from the bottle. No head whatsoever. Aroma of citrus and strong yeast. Pine and wheat supprisingly strong for IPA. Mouthfeel is smooth and tickles the pallet. I found this IPA. A bit tame as compared to other ipas. A great beer for a meal as it won't complicate the situation

Served on-tap in aplain tumbler pint glass at Eli Cannon's in Middletown, Conn.

A: Poured a clean, clear golden yellow color with a thin veil of bone-white foam which left no real lacing on the glass.

S: Very bright, zesty, fresh and fruity hop profile with hints of funky grape skin, lemon zest and herbal, grassy bitterness.

T: Light, crackery malt flavors key in up front with a very mild, buttery taste. The hop characteristics are varied but trend towards the lemongrass and herbal end of the spectrum. Acidity bounds around imparting lemon bitterness and a spicy, slightly catty finish. Not a whole lotta malt backbone to hold up the grainy bitterness, but lots of hop flavor for a small package.

M: Clean, crisp and light-bodied IPA with a good amount of bitterness to keep a snappy palate and finish.

O: A nice session IPA that very drinkable at 4.7% ABV and certainly keeps you interested with it's strong hop profile. As the name implies, you could drink it all day, but I'm not convinced that I would. However, I'd get it again and consider adding it to a summer BBQ or camping pack.

Bottle dated 6/3/2013 so this was about seven weeks old when I drank it. Still hoppy! Aroma was distinct hops, pine, citrus. Flavor was nice and hoppy still, citrus and a strange fuzziness that I got from Lagunitas Daytime IPA. Super easy to drink although at 4.7% I wouldn't quite call this a session beer, maybe at 4.2%. Perfect candidate for cans and I'll be picking up some or trading when they hit shelves.

All Day IPA

Enjoyed on the train with good company, while a Megadeth show.

Pours an orangish amber color that is clear as day. A couple fingers of white head sits for a while some webby lace clings.

The nose has a considerable amount of pineapple and citrus fruits coming from the hops. A light biscuity malt note is also picked up.

This beer might be low in alcohol but not in flavor! Fresh, zesty hops including pineapple and mango. A nice light bitterness on the backend.

The mouthfeel is light bodied with ample carbonation.

Overall, great, flavorful session ale that brings nice hop characteristics to the table.

The beer is golden yellow with a small white head. The aroma brings citrus and pine hops. Light in body and sufficiently bitter. A bit watery and certainly refreshing. A nice brew to toss back on a hot day. Lingering bitter hops and perhaps a touch of orange rind. Good stuff.

12 oz. can poured into Spiegelau.

A- Golden honey in color. Active carbonation. Off-white head retains at 1/4". Great lacing.

S- Aromatice citrus, pine, hint of toasted malt. Sweet aroma.

T- Citrus peel, a little sweet citrus. Less malt, but it's in the flavor profile.

M- Light, crisp. Simple

O- Light, and crushable. Session IPAs are growing on me. Dry hopping, and leaving less for the bittering is a great idea. We get the hop flavor and aroma, but minimal bitterness.

Had this both and tap and in the bottle and there wasn't too much of a difference. A session ale indeed!!

Appearance: a light golden/copper color, pores with a thin white had and a solid amount of carbonation.

Smell: Citrus...smells like grapefruits and tangerines.

taste: It tastes just like it smells. It basically tastes like liquid grapefruit with a slight sweetness. A decent burst from the hops that finishes clean.

Mouthfeel: very light, clean with a good amount of carbonation. You get the flavors and then...it's gone. As if you never drank it.

Overall: I would have to say it is perfect for what it is. A session ale and nothing more. It gives off some good flavors, stays light and clean, and served ice cold it is extremely refreshing. Again, it's excellent for what it is.

Clear crimson body with very slight golden hue with a somewhat thin white head with little lacing. Floral, citrus (orange and pineapple) and pine aroma. Flavor is a touch tangy with mild malt presence with more of the same from the aroma in the flavor with the floral hops coming across more grassy. Lighter side of medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall the hop profile is complex which is accentuated by the mild malt presence.

I like this beer more than others I guess. It tasted very much like alpha King to me. A little bit sweet with a nice hop kick to it... more of a hoppy pale than an IPA but still a good brew...

I wouldn't want it any hoppier for a session so im good with this... piney hoppiness lingers on the finish but it doesn't overwhelm... good malt base...

What's not to like here? Super refreshing on a hot day....
