Wanted to try this pale ale with an IPA taste.

A - Vibrant orange color with course small white head. No lacing. Very clear.

S - Strong hop nose. Full of citrus, some pine, and light floral. Very light grain smell.

T - Has all the hops from the smell with lots of citrus on the front and some pine. Light complimenting grain flavor but definitely hoppy. Very crisp light finish with nice hop bitterness.

M - Light mouth-feel with some graininess. Has some bitterness but is mostly clean on the finish. Light carbonation.

Overall, a deliciously flavored IPA with the body of a light lager. I love the hops and the nice graininess makes for a delicious brew. Perfect if you don't like overly bitter or malt heavy IPA's . It's from the Midwest but seems like it should be from the Pacific NW. I could drink these for ever!

This is my favorite IPA right now. It has a very sharp flavor and is obviously very hoppy, but well balanced. I really like that it is a session beer so it is lower in alcohol, making it more enjoyable to drink multiple because a lot of IPAs right now are fairly high in ABV.

A- Pours a hazy peach golden color with a few streams of rising carbonation. The white head is thin and creamy with nice retention and leaves some nice lacing.

S- Peach, mango, pineapple, pine, and grass. Aromatic and very appealing.

T- Piney hops, with a nice malt backing. There is some nice fruitiness as well. Light on the finish.

M- The carbonation is nice and keeps it light. Just a bit of lingering bitterness.

O- A very well made beer that drinks incredibly well. Very tasty. This is going to be consumed a lot in the summer.

A: Crisp, clear IPA with little head. There is a small island of soapy white foam in the middle of mine and barely a ring around the edges. Looks lively with bubbles streaming to the top. Light amber body.

N: Having not expected much out of the nose on this one since it is only 40 or so IBUS, I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Straight up west coast grape fruit hoppiness, tropical fruits, a bit of caramel.

T: Very good. Again, with economy model the elements are--such as the IBUS and ABV, I'm pleasantly surprised. Very refreshing, which was to be expected--but also very flavorful. A little toned-down but you get the same floral, grapefruit, perfume character on the taste that you get on the nose. Just slightly subdued.

M: Crisp, clean, refreshing. Perfect for a camping trip, which the bottle seems to depict :)

Sidenote: I just want to say that I'm glad that Founders has made a really good, complex, flavorful beer that I can take to a BBQ or other outdoor long-lasting event and not be a mess. The ABV race to the top gets annoying to craft beer drinkers who want to kick back and enjoy a few but are often limited to splitting a 12 oz. bottle and that's it (unless you want to get sloshed).

Poured into a Tulip.

Appearance. Dark golden color. Pours with 2 fingers of head that slowly dissipates to a layer of tight bubbles on top of the beer. Lots of effervescence.

Smell. Floral, slightly citric, herbal and grassy. So much here, hops wise.

Taste. Starts out, and continues to be surprisingly dry. A moderate resinous, piney and floral bitterness builds. Grapefruit and other citric flavors join the floral notes as the pineyness fades. At the same time a slightly herbaceous, or even medicinal and grassy flavors join the citrus and floral notes. The finish is dry, crisp and refreshing. Very little, to almost no malt backbone to speak of.

Mouthfeel. Light body, effervescent carbonation and very dry as stated before.

This beer is insanely drinkable, while at the same time being one of the most uniquely hopped beers I have ever tasted. There are so many of the standard hop flavors that you usually find in IPAs, This one just combines them all in one beer.

Endurance ale is served up a perty medium golden amber. As is often the case at the taproom, they gave me little head with the pour, but the small gatherings of foam I see are white and the beer does leave some traces of lace on the sides of the glass.

This brew has an enjoyable hop aroma with a bit of toasty malt and some caramel to accent it. The hop aromas consist of tropical fruit and dank pine mixed with a floral bouquet and a bit of lemongrass. The nose is understated perhaps, but also very nice.

The flavor is super tasty with the hops leading the way. I am picking up a bit more pine in the flavor, but that nice soft floral character from the aroma is still a major player. Endurance has plenty of bitterness, but is just shy of having too much. The malt seems quite a bit more subdued in the flavor, except for a bit of toastyness.

The body is fairly thin and the mouthfeel almost watery. This would be a bad thing if not for the fact that this is obviously made to be sessionable. It finishes pretty effortlessly, leaving some hop bitterness on the tongue.

I think the best way to describe the drinkability would be with an anecdote. My good friend and fellow BA TCGoalie lives in GR and frequents the tap room with his wife. They have a favorite server, who once described this beer as "crushable" while making a beer guzzling gesture. That is exactly what this beer is. A hop lover like me could crush these like a frat boy would BMC, and enjoy every minute of it. I am a sucker for hoppy pale ales, and this one was right up my alley.

Bought a 12 fl oz bottle of this from Bruisin Ales in Asheville, NC for $2. Poured from the Bright Colored bottle w/ a Station Wagon carrying a Kayak & "Session Ale" below the brand into a non-stemmed Wine Glass. Has BOTTLED 12/26/11 on the front of the bottle.

Aroma- Has an intense citrus and grassy aroma from the beginning. Seems as if this was just brewed yesterday! Very fresh and may have been a bit dry hopped?

Appearance- Pours a 1 finger head that dies quickly. Has a clear, golden colored body and leaves a sudsy lacing behind.

Flavor- A HUGE hop punch hits hard from the start. Grapefruit and other sweet, citric fruits pop out and gives it a strong hop presence all the way through. Has a light-medium hop bitterness level at the end. Wonderful!

Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and a mixture of fruit is left behind with light hops.

Overall Impression- A perfect example of this style! Didn't expect anything less from Founders. This is my first time seeing this brew from them and am wondering why?? Maybe it wasn't offered in the Missouri Market the past 2 years? Either way, looking for more! I suggest you do the same.

Deep golden color with dull white head.

Light aroma of sweet malt with an herbal and resinous hop bouquet. Mild and quite pleasant.

Flavors of toasty malt (a tiny barely perceptible note of butterscotch too) and floral, woodsy hops.

Light to medium body with a dry chewy malt flavor that really leaves an impression and yet finishes quick and clean. Mild hop bitterness in the finish that mainly balances the malt in a very clean, quick, yet memorable way.

A great session beer. All day indeed.

Light amber with a fluffy head and pine and grapefruit aromas. The taste is pretty awesome--lots of grapefruit and citrus, some floral, a bit of pale malt backing, but with a strong bitter finish that resembles heavier IPAs. Just about flawless in execution.

I've become a lightweight since losing a lot of weight last year, so I can see this beer becoming my savior, the one that lets me keep up with my boyfriend without becoming a slurring mess. Love this beer.
