Body is quite clear light amber, small soapy head, and not a lot of lacing.

A fairly potent hop bouqet: floral, tea-like, and piney. A hint of grassyness.

Flavor is more restrained than the aroma, some big hops up front that have a little bit more of that grapefruit and piney bitterness, turns quickly to just a straight up bitter burn. Minimal malt sweetness. All in all, taste is kind of watery.

Mouthfeel is crisp and dry. Not much body or weight, so sessionable it is indeed.

I suppose if you are just a crazy hop-addict who needs an IPA to session, you might find this beer appealing, but for those of us who are open to other styles that are easy to drink, there are many better options for tasty, light bodied and low ABV beer. (739 characters)

Poured from bottle into a rocks glass. Bottle is stamped with 12/26/2012 as the date.

Appearance- Pretty clear, Had to pour rather hard to get the desired head. About half a finger of white head.

Smell- Of course hops right up front. Subtle hints of fruit. Lemon, grapefruit, and maybe even bananas.

Taste- WAY too watery! This is a huge disappointment from a world-class brewery like Founders. Only 42 IBUs??? I mean come on.

Mouthfeel- It is what it claims. You could surely drink these all day. Its not going blow your tastebuds away like a Hopslam or White Rajah.

Overall- It's not the kind of IPA that will blast you away. You do have to give Founders credit though, this beer is exactly what it says it is. (722 characters)

From a 12 oz. bottle poured into a standard pint glass.

L - Pours a deep, through transparent amber with a smaller head than what I was expecting. the head is gone in about 25-30 seconds and leaves a fair amount of lacing.

S - Smells...Weak for an IPA. a tad bit of pine and grapefruit fused but not much else going on here.

T - Taste follows the smells though falls a bit thin. The low ABV is prevalent at this point in terms of underdevelopment

F - Sits flat though pleasantly. No new flavors develop.

O - It's fine if you want an easy drinker that somewhat reminds you of an IPA, but as a stand-alone IPA it was nothing I could personally recommend. " All Day IPA " for a reason. (687 characters)

Pours a very light orance with a finger of white head.

Smell is great with a citrusy tropical hit that really suprised me for the abv.

Taste.... And this is where it falls apart for me. A lot of bitterness, that frankly covers up most other flavors, a little citrus pokes through in the finish.

Mouthfeel is watery, even for 4.7% I was expecting some sort of feel.

Well this is a beer that I just flat out do not understand... Why just bitter the hell out of a low ABV beer.

Plenty of hop forward Pales are avaliable at around the same ABV that have way more flavor and actually drink like beer.

I understand the marketing just do not understand how it is working. (670 characters)

I found everything about this beer to be average. I tend to ride my bike to the brewery alot and when I get there this is one of those beer that I drink to only quench my thirst. It is typical and would be a good beer for someone that was not expecting the explosion of flavor that you typically get from founders. This would be something that I would recommend to some that typically does not drink microbrew and was at founders with me. (438 characters)

Served from a bottle into a Tulip glass.

A: yellow-orangy with little head which dissipated very quickly.

S: almost non-existence. Some faint whisps of hops and grapefruit. Maybe some piney smells also.

T: very flat tasting and the hops are sharply bitter to a fault.

M: Light to medium body. very harsh.

O: not sure why this is a session beer because it is one and done for me on this IPA (and i am a huge fan of Founders IPAs/DIPAs). Very disappointed. (460 characters)

All day. All freakin day. Although the beer did not last all day with my friends, the 15 pack that I bought could have lasted one person all day. All in all, a pack of All Day's can last a person all day. Do not share. (218 characters)

A- Pours a pretty clear golden yellow color with a thin white head. Head is gone in a flash and pretty much no lacing at all.

S- Pretty much picking up all fruity hops and no malts. Usually I'd say this is a good thing but the smell is very very light.

T- Again fruity hops are here but they are very light. A bit of a bready taste is here too.

M- Lighter side of body and carbonation was good.

D- I suppose this is a fairly easy to drink beer. I was a bit disappointed in this one and thought it was rather boring. (519 characters)

This beer is pale and hoppy but light at the same time. It is somewhat cloudy and has a yellow color. I am not really a fan of IPA but it was a good one for someone new to IPA. (176 characters)

A: Bright, golden-orange with a short head that dissipates quickly, leaving some lacing. Crystal clear, no haze.

S: Piney hops, with some peach/apricot thrown in.

T: Some vague piney hoppiness; not much there, to be honest.

M: Nonexistent. Very thin - aside from a bit of carbonation, this beer practically disappears as it passes over the tongue. Disappointing.

O: Looks good, smells good, but doesn't bring much to the table, so to speak. I know compromises need to be made when it comes to making session IPAs, but I expected better from Founders. (559 characters)

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 2.75 | overall: 3

Appearance: orangey gold with a thin white fizzy head, and great clarity

Aroma: very grapefruity, strong tropical fruit aroma. No malt character.

Taste: very thin, actually surprisingly thin tasting. Almost no malt character and almost all grapefruit hop flavor. It actually tastes likes hop steeped water.

Mouthfeel: very thin and light bodied in a way that is wrong for the style. Medium carbonation

Overall: Disappointing for such a great brewery, especially one known for such strong beers like Dirty Bastard. No malt flavor makes the beer taste like hop steeped water. (579 characters)

Poured a nice, a clear orange amber with a light white head.

The smell was light and floral, light bit of grassy hops.

The flavor is mild, a touch of light caramel bready malt and a bit of light pine and citrus hops, flavors are clean and balanced but very underwhelming.

The mouthfeel is a touch thin, even for such a low ABV beer.

There really aren't any flaws here, its just very underwhelming, I was expecting more of a dry hopped prescence. Should be Blah day IPA. (473 characters)

12oz. bottle poured into a glass.

Appearance: Pours a rusty, clear orange. Head and lacing both minimal. Carbonation moderate.

Aroma: Smells of citrus, pine, lemon, hops and grass. All typical IPA smells. Smells hoppier than 42 IBUs. Alcohol is faint.

Taste: The taste follows the nose, but it's kind of underwhelming. The lemon note is a little too dominant. It's very average.

Mouthfeel: It's thinner than I'd prefer. Somewhat watery for an IPA.

Overall: This is a very mediocre beer in my opinion. It does what they want it to do - it's an IPA you can plow through all day because of low ABV - but it's really boring. It seems like a stab at a pale ale / IPA hybrid and I think it would be better if they'd committed to one or another. It could serve as a good "bridge" beer to help folks move from pales to IPAs, so it's not without value. (848 characters)

Poured from a bottle.
Looks like a nice clean pale ale. Nothing overly memorable.
Smells like hops. Not as citrusy as some other IPAs
Tastes like hops. Not a lot of balance here. This is just a very hoppy beer.
Mouthfeel is what you'd expect from a very hoppy IPA without a lot of balance. Finish is bitter.
Overall: not one of my favorites in this category:

look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 2.75 | overall: 2.75

Appearance: Nice amber appearance with a small white head.

Aroma & Taste: Heavy hop notes. Floral herbs and pine mixed with citrus grapefruit and orange. Even with the citrus notes the beer has a heavy bitter taste with a long finish.

I was surprised by the low ABV for this beer, which is why it's an "All Day IPA." Overall this beer was a little to heavy on the hops for me (I like hops) but I also thought it was better when the beer got a little warmer. (459 characters)

Did an A/B comparison between this and my current favorite session IPA

A: Slight deep amber color. Head retention was OK with minimal lacing

S: No real blast of hops. I had to search really hard to smell (imagine?) some pine and citrus

T: See directly above. IMHO this is more of an amber than an IPA

M: Fine

O: I think Founders is a great brewery but this one really disappointed me. The SingleCut 18Watt I compared this to (or say a Hill Farmstead Edward) both are state of the art in terms of a sessionable IPA and the comparison was night and day. Maybe the bottle was too old? I dunno, but another reason to buy local I reckon... (640 characters)

look: 4.25 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 2.75 | overall: 3

Appearance: Clear, golden-yellow in color with a fizzy, white head.

Smell: Pine smell, grass smell, very present smell of hops.

Taste: Fresh, vibrant, sticky hops with a hint of sweet malt in the finish. Very present hops flavor, as an IPA should

Moutfell: Never too hoppy where it's cloying or dry. The carbonation adds a good balance.

Overall:I am not a huge fan of IPAs, personally, but that does not mean this is a bad beer. I thought for an IPA, it was good (468 characters)

Nice beer for a session, but it leaves a lot to be desired due to the metallic aftertaste. Could be due to a bad tap, but not a good enough beer to bring me back. However, due to the overall quality hop flavor, this beer may see some repeat business from me due to the mellow starting taste and the overall drinkability. Poor mouthfeel may e a result of the metallic taste but the lack of a quality head and carbonation hurts. (426 characters)

Overall a decent IPA but not the best, if it was anymore bitter it should be classified as a ESB. It was semi sweet and had a great taste. I'm a big fan of IPAs but there are better ones out there, if this was conditioned a little longer it could definitely be a better beer. (275 characters)

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to an English style pint.
A bright crystal clear yellow-gold body with a 1/2 finger thin head.
Smells of citrus and herbs with a little spiciness. Very "bright".
Very light in body; thin and watery. A little pepper-like bite on the end.
A little too much carbonation for me.
I know this is labeled and supposed to be a session ale, but it's a little too light for my liking. Would prefer more in the body too match the smell. I really love all the other offerings I have had from Founders, but this one misses the mark for me. Not too say it wasn't a decent beer, just not one I would seek out in the future. (637 characters)

Had this as part of the "Glass of the Month" at Winking Lizards in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Appearance - A transparent golden color. It has average lacing with little to no head.

Smell - Aromas of flower and pine. A slightly bitter and hoppy smell.

Taste - Tastes more bitter and hoppier than I had anticipated. Notes of light pine and citrus. It is very fruity, but I can't exactly pinpoint a specific fruit that it tastes like. Quite a complex build in terms of fruity flavor. It also has a yeasty and bread-like aftertaste.

Mouthfeel / Drinkability - Quite malty with many floral notes. Good to sip and enjoy. It can be a little too bitter at times. It is medium to light bodied. Not one of my favorite offerings from Founder's. (727 characters)

Clear, ambery orange. Not a great head. The smell is orange, too: loads of citrus with some tropical aromas – lychee, papaya – as well as a touch of freshly-cut grass. Taste and mouthfeel border on anemic. There are some nice mango-ish hop flavors here, and the beer overall is very balanced, but it lacks body and depth. I get that this is meant to be a lower alcohol version of the style, but I've had beers 10-20 percent weaker than this that were way more delicious and interesting. If I'm honest I've had low-alcohol beers that were tastier. As a sort of basic pale ale, it's not bad. As an American IPA, it's a failure. (629 characters)

First time having this one. Poured aggressively and was rewarded with a two and a half finger off white head that didn't stick around. Body is orange around the middle of my glass and golden where the light shines through the bottom.

Nose is awesome. pine, apricot, orange rind and flesh, tiny bit of lemon. Pick up a fair amount resin also.

Front of flavor is tart, piney, and heavily resinous. There's a nice light malty sweetness that carries through. I miss the majority of the juicier fruit flavors but still pick up orange and lemon rind. Overall, very tasty, refreshing beer. (584 characters)

Poured into a snifter on 2/20/12

Bottled 01/04/12

Sun-faded gold and honey color; aside from a minor haziness it has a pretty sheen. One finger of foam is capped by 1/3rd inch of soapy bubbles. The foam is gone quickly while the bubbles hang on longer. Lace is ok; some patches manage to catch.

The aroma finds notes of floral and grassy hops, pine, lemon and citrus zest, sugar cookies and a hint of honey. All this is well and good. Then, after sitting for a few minutes, overtones of hairspray creep in, and there's an occasional notion of cooked veggies (though low in the mix).

Thankfully the veggies aren't to be found come sippin' time. Though an ambiance of aerosol does exist, it's milder than in the aroma and the hops taste pretty much as they should - lots of pine with citric pith and peel and such. This is very dry throughout. The malt profile is more neutral here - it's clean and has only a mild cracker characteristic.

Light bodied and on the thin side. Neither is a bad thing (it's appropriate for the beer) but carbonation is fast and rather sharp, at least upfront, which makes for a biting drinking experience. Finishes dry with residual bitterness and a faint dusty biscuit note.

This is decent, but it's not something I'm likely to get again any time soon. That said, it's easily drinkable and I'm not one to complain about an IPA with a reasonable abv being available. (1,399 characters)

A simple beer all around. Pours a nice golden amber color with a decent head that sticks around for a nice amount of time. Smells of your typical IPA elements; grapefruit and pine. The taste though is very simple. There is a forward push of hops and citrus notes but very little behind it. The initial taste is very enjoyable but quickly turns to a bitter, astringent flavor that is vaguely reminiscent of(what I can only describe as) feline urine. Its not a horrible beer but definitely not what I expect from a brewery like Founders. Would purchase again only in a pinch. (573 characters)
