This is a good looking IPA, it smells great and taste great, just enough bitterness and still very very session worthy. Looking forward to them canning this beer this year. Will make for a good summer having some all day IPA in the cooler. Or on draft.

Figured I would give this one a go... I had heard from multiple friends that it is a great session IPA. Anyway, got a growler fill of it. Looks OK in the glass, pretty much what you would expect a session IPA to be, very low on the SRM chart with a generous amount of carbonation. First impression on the nose was extremely more skunky than expected... almost smelled like B.O. Taste is overwhelmingly B.O. I hate to say it, but this one was a drain pour. In fact, it was so bad that I had to go grab some bottles at the local shop to see if it was just a bad keg. Nope. Bottles had the exact characteristics all around.

Well this finally showed up in the Northeast. No bottle date on the neck? Ok...either way it just popped up so its fresh as hell.

A - Pours a rather clear golden amber body. A fingers worth of white foam fades away quickly, decent lacing.

S - Woah, tropical fruit bomb. Papaya, mango, peach...the whole gang is here. A bit of biscuity malt and pine/dankness to balance it all out.

T - Tropical fruits lead into light biscuity malts. Man, this is tasty as all hell!! Just loads of peaches.

M - Light to medium bodied, lighlty creamy with ample carbonation. I could drink this all day so mission accomplished.

O - This is an awesome beer and I love the lower abv. Do not love the price though. $11 for a six pack at a reasonable store? Oy....this is a tough pill to swallow.

Bottle: a stumpy 355mL brown bottle with a nice old-school label.

Appearance: pours a crystal clear golden amber with a decent off-white head that sits at one-finger. Minimal lacing.

Aroma: an intensely nose of orange citrus, pine and grass hops. There are some earthen characters in the background too, which is nice.

Taste: follows from the nose, and I am happy to report that unlike most IPAs that have a strong nose, this one also has an even more intense flavour of pine and citrus. Those earthen characters and some malts are around in the background again.

Aftertaste: hangs about for quite a time, with a touch of alcohol to boot. Plenty of hop bitterness. Nice.

Mouth feel: a moderate body with plenty of carbonation.

Overall: a particularly good example of the American IPA style. Plenty of hops up front with just enough presence from the malts and warming alcohol to round it out. At AU$75 a case of 24 x 355mL (2013) it is better value than plenty of less impressive options.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. Clear body that is light amber with orange hues. Nice two finger off-white head that has decent retention and leaves some nice lacing along the glass.

Solid aroma that is primarily made up of the hop notes: mostly citrus (lemon) with a bit of a tropical leaning the in background. Minor notes of caramel malt in the background.

The flavor is fairly close to the aroma, slightly more on the bitter side. Some light pine notes come into play, but the citrus flavors dominate, primarily the lemon.

Medium to light texture in the mouthfeel. I notched the overall score a bit because it's nice to have reasonably flavorful session beer. Well done, Founders.

poured 12oz bottle into pint glass

A - Pours a light sun color with a slight hue of lime. Nice 2 finger white bubbly head and lacing galore.

S - Light citrus and floral hops, not really any malt or sweet smell.

T - Not too exciting as it is just some floral, citrus hop juice and no real malt to speak of.

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation. A lot like the "fizzy yellow beer" feel

O - As an IPA it is weak since there really is no malt to speak of. As a session ale it is pretty good as a light, refreshing drink on a hot day. Not much separates this from Lagunitas Daytime or Central Waters Hop Rise.
