12 oz. bottle poured into a Burley Oak snifter (bottle date: 7/30/13)

A: Deep blonde with a copper tinge. Nice lacing.

S: This smells pretty good. It is a different smelling IPA. The citrus-pine smells of this is blended quite uniquely.

T: The pine here is not good tasting and mostly, "Bleh." I can't place the exact flavor profile of the pine and malt here, but it just seems to be the bad side of pine bark.

M: Thin, not very prickly or coarse.

O: Eh, this IPA is not my bag. There is something about session IPAs that kind of takes all the fun and taste out of a good ABV. They are like the diet soda of IPAs, some people like them but not everybody. If I'm going to be drinking a beer, I want it to be full flavored.

Served in a wellington glass.

Appearance: Transparent gold, heavy bubbles on the body with a somewhat weak head. Maybe it's 1/8" (if that) off the body.

Smell: This brew smells ridiculously of fresh hops easily the best property of the beer. Strong floral and citrus.

Taste: Like the scent but little light in strength. I didn't know the able level till I started reviewing it. This is easily the lightest IPA I have had but the flavor is still bold.

Mouth: Medium with very light stickiness, has that grapefruit skin after taste whivh is just right.

Overall: At first it is very bland, but it is one of those that builds up sip after sip. It is definitely not on the level of some other IPAs I have had but I would definitely call this an easier intro for the style of beer. One more thing because of the wet hop feel, it feels like a thirst quencher. This might just be your warm weather IPA. Salud!

A: Clear, golden orange liquid with lots of big rising bubbles. Head is of white and modest. Settles to a skim.

S: Strong citrus hop aroma. It comes across as mildly sweet and bitter.

T: Very bitter IPA. Just because the alcohol is a bit lower doesn't mean hops were sacrificed as well (unless you count added hops to the boil, then yes, many hops were sacrificed).

M: Beer has a slight sticky film that contains some bitter hop oils. Carbonation is strong.

O: A very good IPA. I can see myself enjoying this one all day. I hope to revisit it again this summer. I calls for sunshine and a back deck.

Poured from a bottle into a New Belgium snifter. The pour is clear and honey-colored with not much of a head. The nose is very nice. Some floral notes, tropical fruit, and a little bit of candy sweetness.

Medium bodied beer with lots of flavor. Nice, cracker-like malt notes on the front of the palate and lots of lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine-like hop notes at mid-palate. The finish lingers nicely and refreshes. A wonderful easy-drinking beer.

I hate to say that this is a good ``session ale''. It's kind of like saying Stephen King is a good horror writer. The fact is he's a good writer regardless of genre and this is a really good beer that can stand on its own against a lot of IPAs that aren't holding anything back.
