Drank out of bottle from the first release in the area. Pours more like a light beer than a typical IPA. Decent piny smell that doesn't match the lighter appearance.

Most important....taste...was expecting an extemely thin feel and taste from an IPA with a 4.7% Abv, but was pleasantly surprised that it had a decent upfront IPA piny taste but fades quickly. This light (for lack of a better word) IPA taste, doesn't seem to burn out the taste buds like many other IPA's so it can be a very effective transition beer when trying out different crafts.

Overall, truth be told I hold Founders in a high regard but I try to be objective. For a session, it would rank very high for taste and drinking experience in comparison to other sessions. But realistically overall this is a beer that would be a great to have multiple at a BBQ or summer party where you feel like you are drinking a flavorful craft, instead of having to choose from some lame light beer or a flavorless mass produced offering. I give All Day IPA extra points for being able achieve decent IPA flavor with a lower ABV.
Definitely will be a staple in my fridge this summer.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has some hints of amber hues and a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down rather quickly, leaving lacing on the surface and down the sides of the glass and a small collar around the edge.
S: There are moderate to strong aromas of citrusy hops in the nose—oranges seem to stand out in particular along with hints of grapefruit. There are also some hints of grassy hops.
T: Much like the smell, the taste is filled with flavors of bright, citrusy hops and has a light to moderate amount of associated bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really enjoyed the bright and fresh hop aromas and flavors of this beer. The only drawback is that it's tough to sip and savor these because it is so easy to drink. I would have no problem drinking an entire six pack of this in one sitting.

Note: Bottled on 2/22/13

12oz bottle. Pours a translucent light golden color with a half inch of head. Some lacing. This one smells fantastic. Citrus and floral hops. Sweet orange and grapefruit. Hints of grains. The taste isnt as hoppy as the aroma indicated but there is still a nice amount of floral and citrus hops. Grains as well. Super drinkable with very little alcohol presence. Light and crisp mouthfeel with a moderate amount of carbonation. This beer is exactly what it is supposed to be; a flavorful, hoppy low ABV brew. Overall, a perfect beer to have a bunch of in the fridge.

12oz bottle poured into a Founders Brewing Company snifter.

Pours a true copper color, hues of orange and gold, fairly clear texture with a slight chill haze. A thin, fizzy white head surfaces for a brief moment before receding into nothingness leaving no film and no lacing. The aroma is pleasant, light citrusy and floral hops, a bit of fruit brings out the sweetness from the grain that is soft and subtle. I can't say there is too much going on here, but it's certainly enough to keep my interest. The flavors are right in line with the nose, light tropical fruit, citrus fruit with floral undertones lead the way with some earthier pine and pale cereal grain at the finish. The body is nice, carbonation is a bit higher but still moderate, with a lightly dry finish.

Verdict: A really enjoyable session IPA from Founders. The flavors do skew to the lighter side and aren't as impactful as a higher gravity IPA but the refreshing nature of this beer makes it a winner.
