Appearance: Nice amber appearance with a small white head.

Aroma & Taste: Heavy hop notes. Floral herbs and pine mixed with citrus grapefruit and orange. Even with the citrus notes the beer has a heavy bitter taste with a long finish.

I was surprised by the low ABV for this beer, which is why it's an "All Day IPA." Overall this beer was a little to heavy on the hops for me (I like hops) but I also thought it was better when the beer got a little warmer.

Big thanks to Ba ClockworkOrange for gifting me with a bottle of this. The brew pours a perfectly clear light copper color with a finger of off-white head that fades leaving spots of lace sticking to the glass. Around the edges, the brew is more of a yellowish color. A swirl revives less than a finger back to the surface that is quick to fade.

The aroma is quite enjoyable with a fresh juicy hoppiness. Some tropical qualities mix with a floral aspect, more fruit and rinds. A little zesty, pulp-like, herbal and piney character also is thrown into the mix. The most faint amount of bready grain sits underneath but for the most part the aromatics are all about the hops.

The flavor of this brew is grassy to herbal with a solid focus on hop character without getting too bitter. Some floral notes, zest and bitter pulp to rind character somewhat like oranges and grapefruit. There is a bit of toasty bready grain character lying underneath the hop flavoring.

This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is light, refreshing and very easy drinking. Session IPA or just hop centric pale ale? Who knows why the focus on session, but it is pretty good. I wouldnt mind throwing back a few of these on a hot day. Thanks again for sharing Jason!

Bottle > Pint Glass
A - Pours a nice yellow, solid 1.5 finger head, nice lacing.
S - Good floral hints, fresh cut grass, and some pine
T - Crisp and fresh, good pine flavor and just enough malt to compliment the bitterness.
M - Light and refreshing, clean, well carbonated.
O - Does exactly what its name suggest, expect nothing less or more.

I am not an Indian Pale Ale Drinker and this is my first choice if forced with a decision. It is a well balanced. The hopps are strong but very well balanced with the rest of the ingredients. The hopps come through cleanly without a lot of fuss or distraction. With this beer you get the hopp flavor without too much lasting bitter aftertaste. Founders definitely has a winner with this brew.

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with a one finger white head. Head retention is on the weak side but some decent lacing on the sides of the glass.

The aroma is very citrusy with a healthy dose of grass thrown in as well. Pineapp/mango tropical citrus is what really jumps out. Not much in the way of malt at all; maybe a little bit of caramel.

Taste is extremely hop forward as well. The same tropical citrus that was present in the aroma is there but it falls off rather quickly leaving a moderate to high bitterness. Really no malt at all which is a shame along with a very watery mouthfeel.

Overall, I like the attempt by Founders to make a session IPA but I feel the style just doesn't work all that well. The hops really overpower everything plus the price is just too high to really session.

A- This beer pours a slightly hazy orange body with a gentle carbonation pushing up a creamy beige head with big bubbles.

S- The green slightly pungent fruity hops have a full juicy character with some green grapefruit aroma in the finish. There is a cat pee and spicy quality that grows as the beer opens.

T- The green slightly pungent pineapple weed hops have a slight fruity green hop finish which takes on some herbal pungency as it lingers a bit.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle fizz but no alcohol heat noticed.

O- This is a smooth beer with lots of full hops that are slightly juicy and slightly pungent adding nice complexity and very drinkable.

Great session beer. I've heard complaints that it can wreck your palate during a drinking session, but I haven't noticed that.

Just the right amount of hops for a session beer plus it's not too overwhelming with the alcohol % that you can have several at a sitting.

I don't care if this is a 6.5% IPA or a 4.7% IPA. Bottom line it is juicy hop laden treat and one of the best tasting IPA's I've had.

Big fresh citrus aroma of oranges and tangerines. Pineapple mingles in next along with more tropical fruitiness from Mango's and Papaya.

The flavors mimick the aroma....big on juicy citrus fruits ad tropical fruits. Malt is clean and light and gives a nice unobtrusive backing.

Bitterness is held in check but finishes real clean. Body is maybe a little light for an IPA but makes this very drinkable as well. Carbonation is spot on. I could see kicking back a ton of these particularly once they come out in 12 pack cans. This is one of the best IPA's I've had. If you are a sucker for jucicy citrus/tropical fruits in your IPA this one is for you.
