Pours a slightly hazy straw color with 1/2 finger of quickly dissipating head.

Smell is loaded with pine. Hard to get too much else out of the smell, but it does smell good.

Taste is similar to smell, with piney hops dominating. Not muh in the way of malt to balance, but really quite good. Finish tastes a bit like tea, with little in the way of lingering hop bitterness. A lot of flavor, but the finish falls a bit flat.

Medium, slightly oily mouthfeel that finishes pretty clean.

Overall, very drinkable, though the tea notes on the finish are a little off putting after awhile. Nice to see some more very flavorful, lower abv beers.

All Day IPA

Served in New Belgium tulip

A: Pours clear pale gold with modest head that has little retention. No lacing. Modest effervescence.

S: Ripe fuzzy fruits, especially peaches, some resin, instant tea, and biscuity malts. An unexpected note of strawberry. I'm tempted to say grapefruit, but I never quite get there.

T: Tongue disappoints. Light, general fruit joins stronger resin. Malts taste more toasty. Relative bitterness is strong. Finish is bitter and grainy.

M: Light body and medium-light carbonation. Out of the growler the beer drinks as though it were on cask.

O: All Day IPA drinks packs quite a bit of smell and taste for being a lower ABV beer. It feels a little too "on the fence" though, meaning it isn't quite a session beer or a proper IPA. Still, it is quite drinkable due to its simplicity and lower ABV.

A - The beer is a golden-orange/yellow color with a finger of white head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving behind some light lacing.

S - The aroma is a mix of some sweet malt and some piney hops. There is also some grapefruit aromas mixed in as well.

T - Starts off with a mix of piney hops and some bitterness with a bit of sweet malt in the background. Through the middle, some stronger grapefruit hops and some more bitterness come through. The finish is a mix of hops and bitterness with a touch of sweet malt that lingers.

M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels very smooth and crisp. The beer also feels fairly dry, especially with the bitterness as the finish.

D - Extremely drinkable. Very interesting IPA with as much flavor as it has with the rather low abv level. It is very flavorful and does not sacrifice flavor.

A- Clear amber with slight carbonation. No lacing or head really, with the exception of a ring of carbonation on the inner wall of the glass.

S- Pine and more pine. Very resinous.

T- Pine and slight citrus. Not a trace of malt. Slight skunk character in the hops. Substantial IBUs. Leaning towards DIPA, but a little light in both hops and definitely malts.

Tastes like a far bigger IPA than it is. I'd expect this to clock in between 6-7% if not knowing better.

M- Smooth and creamy. Medium body. Slightly dry and sticky finish. Carbonation is spot on.

O- Very drinkable. If you're looking for a hop forward IPA, this is the right drink.

Pours a lightly hazed gold color, moderate cap of white head, decent sticky lacing. Scent is hop forward, lots of grapefruit with touches of pine resin, very faint malt presence in the nose. Taste is quite bitter and hoppy, grapefruit forward with pine resin and lemon. Some mustyness and again a faint malt presence. Took a look at the ABV's posted at the bar and it was listed at 4.8%, so that should justify the low malt backbone. Lighter side of medium bodied, lightly sticky and dry finnish. Tasted pretty good, but overall just lacked a little sweetness to cut the bitterness.

on tap at kite and key in philly

Pours a clouded golden orange color with some yellow hues. Thicker white head retains for a bit, tons of lacing coats the glass.

Strong hop aroma with grapefruit and pine, some citrus juicyness and bready malts. Light sweetness with biting bitterness.

Hops bite right up front with citrus and grapefruit. Fairly juicy and balanced, some sweetness with tropical notes. Biscuit malt and faint caramel. Finishes dry, lingering, and hoppy.

Lighter medium body, higher carbonation, tingly and biting on the tongue. Drinks insanely well, great balance and flavor - I really hope they bottle this soon.

Had this on-tap at teh Winking Lizard in Bedford. It was served under the name "Endurance", but I guess it is more typicall known as the All-Day IPA. It was served to me in a pint glass. Pours a cloudy sun yellow with minimal head.

Has a lemony malt smell, with mild hop bitters. Otherwise, the aroma is rather subdued.

Has a clean, crisp start, with a light hop lemony/orange/grapefruit citrus taste. The fruity floral start gives way to a grassy grain middle, with a decent herbal backbone, before finishing rather dry.

Very light, crisp and clean tasting.

I found this to be a very tasty session beer. Easy drinking, yet ful of flavor. Please bottle (or can) this and sell it 12-packs for the summer!

On-tap at the West Lakeview Liquors Founders BBQ event during CCBW.

A - Pours a golden/orange color, white head, thin cap, slight spotty lacing.

S - Solid dose of bitter hops, pine, citrus, orange peel. The hops, pine, and citrus are wonderful and create a very nice nose. Nothing too overpowering and very solid for a 4.8% beer.

T - Pine, citrus, slight dank hops. Tastes "bigger" then 4.8% by far. I would say this is a 7-8% beer rather then 5%, very impressive.

M - Light, crisp, refreshing, with an oily finish.

O - I had a couple pours of this one, as it's just so easy to drink. Didn't totally blow me away or anything, but for what it is, it's def an excellent beer.

Had this On tap at the brewery in the first week of April, 2011. Really enjoyed this beer, could session it easily.

A: Pretty semi clear orange color with a ring of foamy head. Not much lacing.

S: Nice citrus and tropical fruit hops with lemon bars to add sweetness. Almost like FFF in hop profile to me. Some fainter wheat malt in there as well. Refreshing.

T: Very flavorful for the ABV! Lemon grass, orange rind, nice malt backbone, and a crisp grassy hop end. An awesome session IPA.

M: Crisp and clean, light bodied. Very carbonated, a little too much for me, but it works.

O: Another great beer from Founders and one I would look for 6 packs of this summer if they release it (as I think they were planning to).

Enjoyed All Day IPA on tap at the Map Room. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a bright yellow with about an inch of nice white head. The aroma was strong citrus hops, mostly grapefruit. It had a strong heavy enjoyable aroma for a beer of its size. The taste was very citrus hoppy as well. There is a little bit of resiney hops, but not much at all, leaving for a very drinkable and approachable delicious IPA. The mouthfeel was medium light with good carbonation. This is generally what I am looking for out of an IPA. Overall a very good beer. It is well brewed and outstanding, especially for such a low ABV brew. Good work founders on another hit.

pours a bright vivid light golden yellow. light fluffy white head. little lacing but nice retention.

grapefruit, tons of grapefruit. nice light sweetness.

this is very hoppy and very citrus forward. this is hard to describe. i found this very one dimensional in terms of flavor. massive grapefruit from the hops. nice light grapefruit bitterness with a light sweetness. a bit dry in the finish.

very light, like massively light body. crazy easy to drink

this was amazing, i loved every sip. with the uber low ABV and stupid amount of hops, this is the jam and then some.

Had on tap at Fries Cafe in Cincinnati. Served in your standard pint glass.

A- pale translucent yellow orange. Very nice bright white head that sticks around for awhile. Some soapy lacing clings as You sip.

S- very hoppy. Light grassy hops play nicely with some fruitier hops. Very appealing smell.

T- starts with light lemony grassy hops and precedes to get better by introducing the perfect balance of citrus hops and mild malts. I think this is a great taste. Perfect for the name.

M- very light and perfect carbonation. Founders nailed what they were going for.

Overall a great beer light refreshing and damn tasty. Surprisingly huge flavors for such a low ABV. Now I have to find a six pack

Had this on tap at the University of Chicago Pub, leftovers from a KBS event the night before. I drank this after a glass of KBS, and was expecting everything else that night to be a let down, but this certainly wasn't.

This poured pretty light, much less than solid orange. One reviewer said peach, and that sounds quite right to me. A little head, some retention, and decent lace. On the nose the biggest note is orange rind, with a good but not overpowering hop presence. In the mouth the orange rind is huge and contributes to a big, bitter profile. There is no doubt that this is an IPA in my mind, as it lacks the bigger malt backbone of something like Alpha King or SNPA. What malt there is is mostly caramelish, but the bitterness, including a long finish, is definitely at the fore here. The feel is a little thinner than most IPAs but given the low ABV that was probably the intention. I was a big fan of this beer, maybe even more than Centennial IPA. Can't wait to see this released more widely.

On-tap at Local Option. Served in a pint glass.

A - Pours with a finger of white foam that settles to a thin haze, thicker collar, and a few spots of lace. Lightly hazed golden body.

S - Citrus zest, some dankness and earthy pine, and as it warms caramel and faint brown sugar notes. Pretty potent for only 4.8% (I would have guessed 6-7% based on flavor, not alcohol presence).

T - Nice grapefruit bitterness, light kiss of sweet sugary malt, and a citrus sweetness at the back end. Present but restrained bitterness.

M - Extremely dry, with plenty of residual hop resins. Medium carbonation, medium body, with a slightly gritty texture.

D - The name is appropriate. I finished my pint in about 15 minutes. Carbonation is a bit too high for it to be a home run session for me, but it's at least a stand-up double.

On-tap at Local Option, phrase of the night was "All Day". You can certainly drink this all day long.... The body is golden peach with a bright white head. Not much retention but ok lace... Lots going on in the nose with tropical notes balanced with floral hops. very strong for the abv, appreciate that... The taste loses some of the strong notes, more muted and what does come through is more of the floral hops that have a slight bitter finish that is not expected or pleasant. If some of the tropical mango came through this could be spectacular.

Very drinkable and pretty darn good, but than its rating right now.

Had on-tap at KBS day 2011. Served in a 16oz nonic.

A- Golden straw color with finger of white head. Head dissipates into light lacing. No lacing on the glass. Moderate visible carbonation. Nice to see an IPA with a lighter color.

S- Strong bright citrus hop is the prominent smell. Has some piney qualities that come through with a sweet malt backbone. All three compliment each other well.

T- Sweet fresh grapefruit flavor hits at the start. Quite bitter, but balanced out with a piney grass flavor. Some toasted malt, balances out for a smooth flavor.

M- Light body with good carbonation for an IPA. Lingering bitterness accompanied with sweet flavor on the cheeks.

D- A very drinkable IPA. A low abv of 4.8%, makes this a joy in the IPA category. I was told that Founders is in the process of bottling it, and if it is the right price, I just found myself a perfect summer beer.

Marketed as "Endurance Ale" at the time I tried this.

On tap at Winking Lizard. Opted not to pay the extra buck to keep the ugly glass they were offering.

Pale golden color, crystal clear, small white ring of large bubbles. No lace.

Smells sweet, citrusy grapefruit, lemon, cracked peppercorns.

The taste is mostly bitter pine, it really reminded me of Stone IPA. Dry rough finish on the palate.

Very drinkable, as intended, but also very boring. I am really not too pleased with the mild/session beer fad that's erupting this year. I have yet to taste a good beer brewed with this intent lately. Give me something with good flavor or at least keep the mediocrity in Michigan.

S- nice citrus grapefruit and pineapple aromas

T - citrus and pineapple flavor that is crisp and light very refreshing. A good hop flavor and light malt that is slightly sweet but not overly malty to take away the hops. I had this beer at the Cincinnati beer fest and it was my favorite of the night out of twenty IPAs and Pale ales.

M - light a bubbly thirst quenching

D - refreshing and not high in alcohol so goes well with food. If I can ever find it in Indianapolis I will drink it all day

Had on tap.

A- Pours a golden yellow color with a light amber hue to it. One finger white head shows medium retention. Some light web lacing on the sides of the glass.

S- Tropical style hops in the front of the aroma. I mean this thing bursting with pineapple. There is a light caramel bready malt base but it only comes through in hints. Pine like bittering hops are in the ending of the nose.

T- Sweet citrus hops in the front of the beer screams from the get go. Pineapple is the biggest flavor I get in the front of the beer itself. Light bready pale malts in the middle of the beer show that there is a underbody to all this hop blasting going on. Light bitter hops on the backend to off-set the hoppy sweetness that is on the front end of this beer.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Sweet citrus hops and faded bittering hops are left on the palate. Aftertaste is light alcohol with a hint of pale malts and a crisp hop bitterness. This beer is balanced very well to the style they were going with. No off flavors were present. Light drying on the palate from the alcohol.

D- Although this was a hop forward beer it seemed a little muted at times in the nose. The flavor was big but not over the top I thought. A nice balance between sweet and bitter with the ABV really lending to the drinkability. Overall a nice sessionable beer from Founders.

Had this as part of the "Glass of the Month" at Winking Lizards in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Appearance - A transparent golden color. It has average lacing with little to no head.

Smell - Aromas of flower and pine. A slightly bitter and hoppy smell.

Taste - Tastes more bitter and hoppier than I had anticipated. Notes of light pine and citrus. It is very fruity, but I can't exactly pinpoint a specific fruit that it tastes like. Quite a complex build in terms of fruity flavor. It also has a yeasty and bread-like aftertaste.

Mouthfeel / Drinkability - Quite malty with many floral notes. Good to sip and enjoy. It can be a little too bitter at times. It is medium to light bodied. Not one of my favorite offerings from Founder's.

On-tap at Winking Lizard.

A: Pours a clear golden amber with a finger of white head. Good retention and decent lacing, with tons of carbonation bubbles flowing up through the glass.

S: Crisp pine hops with just a bit of light, somewhat indistinguishable sweet malts in there as well. Faint, but enjoyable.

T: Strong for what's being advertised as a "session" beer (even above the 4% ABV definition that I usually see), sweet malts seem a bitty toasty here and lots of crisp hop flavor. Semi-long lasting bitter finish.

M: Light, crisp body; lively carbonation with a dry finish.

D: As a low alcohol beer, the ethanol definitely doesn't come into play, but I wouldn't feel like another of these. The taste was pleasant for a bit, but without being particularly complex or a great taste, drinkability is just average.

Sampled on-tap at Winking Lizard. This was their glass of the month selection.

Poured a clear, light golden. A thin, off-white head clung a bit. Smell was hops superlative; bubble-gum, pine, pineapple (very tropical-smelling). Taste echoed the smell very nicely, with grapefruit and fresh-cut grass coming to the forefront. The malt body is very mild on this beer - mostly it tastes like a dry-hopped, light pale ale. Mouthfeel is very nice, lots of carbonation, yet smooth. Once again, I tasted it as light on the malts, but seemed suitable for what the beer was. Reminded me in spirit to Stone's Levitation Ale, but the dry-hop was much more successful, imo. Super easy to drink, and a darn enjoyable beer that appealed to the hop-head side of me.

A- Pours a pretty clear golden yellow color with a thin white head. Head is gone in a flash and pretty much no lacing at all.

S- Pretty much picking up all fruity hops and no malts. Usually I'd say this is a good thing but the smell is very very light.

T- Again fruity hops are here but they are very light. A bit of a bready taste is here too.

M- Lighter side of body and carbonation was good.

D- I suppose this is a fairly easy to drink beer. I was a bit disappointed in this one and thought it was rather boring.

On tap at Founders, served in a nonic.

Clear golden straw body capped by a soft white head. Retention was decent, very little lacing left clinging to the glass.

Bright citrus aroma with hints of pine. Subtle malt can bee picked up underneath but it is a very complimentary aroma.

Sweet grapefruit flavor is very fresh and bright up front. Slightly grassy bitterness balances the sweeter citric hops. Slightly toasty pale malt sits quietly in the background.

Rather light bodied Pale with lively carbonation. Very smooth across the tongue with an impressively dry finish.

Ridiculously drinkable beer. The flavors of an IPA in a 4.5% pale is hard to beat. Could easily drink several of these in a sitting without worrying about intoxication.
