A half-finger of fluffy white head on top of a transparent honey-colored beer. Great looking. Has a powerful citrus and piney hop smell accented with some grassy notes. The taste has the hop character but not much balance it. Almost a light pilsner-like background to it. Nice, light and smooth mouthfeel and lightly carbonated. Overall, this would be great in the summertime at the river. It's got great hop character but not really much malt backing to balance it out for me.

4/30/12 edit-this beer is really growing on me. It's a great session beer. I bumped the taste up to a 4 and the overall up to a 4, as compared to my first review. (641 characters)

Pours a clear golden color with a tight, white head that leaves chunks of lacing.

Smells of pine and citrus hops.

Tastes of the citric hops with a light malt backbone. Hops lead off with pine, citrus, and floral notes with a fair amount of bitterness. Bready malts come in but not much in the way of sweetness. Finishes with a spicy and earth hop kick.

Mouthfeel is medium with a crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this accomplishes its goal of being a flavorful, low alcohol IPA. (487 characters)

A-Clear yellow orange, nicely carbonated, one finger head that doesn't last long.

S-Citrus, floral and grassy hops all in a nice balance.

T-Starts with nice bready malt the citrus and floral notes. Some grapefruit. Ends with slight bitterness and good balance.

M-Medium bodied, some hop resins, nicely carbonated as well.

O-Nothing outstanding but a beer that you can have a few off without any side-effects yet nice on flavor. (431 characters)

Bottle from Siciliano's, 330ml into a tulip. Bottled May 5, 2012.

Clear golden orange with a finger of white head. Moderate retention and good lacing. Nose of bright citrus fruits, a bit of sugary malt and slight grassy/herbal/dank hoppiness in there too. Taste has only a glimpse of the citrus before opening up into some toasty grains and more prominent herbal and grassy notes. Light sweetness but bitterness prevails. Light body and genuinely 'poundable' (hence the "All Day" title?). Medium light carbonation. A solid IPA, wish there weren't so many other things I wanted to buy when I was in Michigan, more of this would have been acquired. (647 characters)

A - This poured a nice orange/apricot color with gold highlights

S - Very appealing citrus complex smell

T - Very nicely flavored IPA with all kinds of smooth citrus flavors with this bear. With just enough bitter to compliment.

M - Had a very nice body with good carbonation and a nice mix of bitterness and smoothness.

O - Overall I was very, very pleased with this "Every Day IPA" and wasn't expecting it to be such a good beer. This a definitely a fridge filler with the price point and I will always have this one on hand. (591 characters)

Appearance: Very light copper in color with two fingers length of foam that dissipates fairly quickly.

Smell: Faint citrus.

Taste: Citrus, like white grapefruit. Hop bitterness up front that pleasantly lingers on.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium, that leaves slight, clean aftertaste.

Overall: A very refreshing beer that has enough flavor and bite to satisfy. As the label says, this is very "sessionable". (406 characters)

Pours a small hazy deep yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, mellow orange citrus hops. In the taste, dryer hops, with a mellow citrus end. A small hop bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dry hop, with notes of orange citrus in the aftertaste. Perfect for what it is, an IPA light! (308 characters)

I've had this beer quite a few times before reviewing. 12 oz bottle poured into a 4 oz Barrier Brewing Co. tasting glass.

A: Straw-colored with hints of orange when held away from the light. Nice carbonation visible and good lacing.

S: Pine, Pine and Pine with a bit of citrus at the end. Pleasant and enjoyable.

T: Citrus, tangerine, grapefruit and pine with a nice malt backbone. I'm not sure where one flavor starts and where another one ends. Get them all at once. Blends very nicely. Well done.

M: Lighter than your average IPA, but that's not a bad thing. Makes it quite easy to put these suckers down.

O: Overall, like every other Founders beer I've ever had, the brewers achieved what they were setting out to create: a low ABV session IPA. I could easily drink a 6 of these in one sitting, and have. It is a great beer to drink on the beach due to the low ABV. Nicely done. (887 characters)

Bottle: a stumpy 355mL brown bottle with a nice old-school label.

Appearance: pours a crystal clear golden amber with a decent off-white head that sits at one-finger. Minimal lacing.

Aroma: an intensely nose of orange citrus, pine and grass hops. There are some earthen characters in the background too, which is nice.

Taste: follows from the nose, and I am happy to report that unlike most IPAs that have a strong nose, this one also has an even more intense flavour of pine and citrus. Those earthen characters and some malts are around in the background again.

Aftertaste: hangs about for quite a time, with a touch of alcohol to boot. Plenty of hop bitterness. Nice.

Mouth feel: a moderate body with plenty of carbonation.

Overall: a particularly good example of the American IPA style. Plenty of hops up front with just enough presence from the malts and warming alcohol to round it out. At AU$75 a case of 24 x 355mL (2013) it is better value than plenty of less impressive options. (994 characters)

Pours a golden chrome with fine head and lacing.

Smell is lovely apple, pine, bit of peach. Malt isn't really there- it's all about the fruity hops.

Taste is a nice combination of the aforementioned fruits with a pine-y bite.

Mouthfeel is thin, good carb and dry and crisp, almost like mineral water with a little bit of sourness.

Excellent, underrated beer. Don't get what the Australians complaining about this beer were on about. Like a better version of Stone & Wood Pacific Ale.

Hops may have faded a bit due to the age but are still a lot more present than in beers which travel a similar route to this country e.g. Sierra Nevada. (641 characters)

On tap at Founders, served in a nonic.

Clear golden straw body capped by a soft white head. Retention was decent, very little lacing left clinging to the glass.

Bright citrus aroma with hints of pine. Subtle malt can bee picked up underneath but it is a very complimentary aroma.

Sweet grapefruit flavor is very fresh and bright up front. Slightly grassy bitterness balances the sweeter citric hops. Slightly toasty pale malt sits quietly in the background.

Rather light bodied Pale with lively carbonation. Very smooth across the tongue with an impressively dry finish.

Ridiculously drinkable beer. The flavors of an IPA in a 4.5% pale is hard to beat. Could easily drink several of these in a sitting without worrying about intoxication. (745 characters)

While I'm against the concept of 'sessions IPAs' (4.7% = APA) - this is the best of the bunch and the only one I'd actually buy.

It smells perfect - citrus and grapefruit with other tropical fruits.

Taste is a bit weak, but that's true of all 'session' beers. Lower alcohol = less malt and less hops. That said, I get good citrus fruit (mostly grapefruit) throughout, and it finishes slightly bitter - like grapefruit pith (a good thing).

Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Perfect for it's intended purpose - doing stuff outside, having a BBQ, etc..

I actually like this beer better than some of Founders 'real' IPAs. (619 characters)

This beverage is straw-gold in color. It smells STRONGLY of hops. The hops smell kind of hits you in the face. The taste is strongly of hops, but it is not overwhelmingly bitter even though it has bitter notes. The body is good light-medium. For as hoppy as it is, it is fairly drinkable. For the type of beer it is, it is done well. It is just not my style. (358 characters)

From 03/16/13 notes. Had this on tap at Stoddard's in Boston; served in a pint glass. have had this one a few times.

a - Pours a clear medium orange color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of citrus hops, fruity malts, tropical fruits, floral hops, some light pine hops. Very nice nose; tons of citrus and fresh hops, and very fruity.

t - Tastes of citrus hops, mangos, fruity malts, tropical fruits, bready malts, and some herbal notes. There is no bitterness in the taste which I like; quite nice.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. no bitterness and easy to drink. Nice mouthfeel.

o - Overall a very nice IPA and easy to drink. The nose is extremely nice and hoppy, and there is no bitterness in this one at all. Glad this is popping up all over NY, would definitely buy a 6er of it again. (850 characters)

Poured into a pint glass. Nice citrus and hop smell very light. Taste is balanced of hops and citrus flavors. Session IPA so its on the light side, refreshing and easy drinking. Probably tied #2 with session IPAs along with Even Keel from Ballast Point. Still love Easy Jack from Firestone! Cheers! (304 characters)

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance is a light yellowish-amber with lots of carbonation visible. About a finger width of white head that fades quickly.

Smell is very bold, with a combination of pine and grapefruit dominant.

Taste is loaded with hoppy piney goodness, but this fades quickly leaving very little aftertaste. Seems ideal to me for a session ale.

Mouthfeel is very light, with a dry finish due to the heavy carbonation.

I love this take on the IPA - the hops make it more assertive than a typical pale ale, but the low alcohol content makes it perfect for cottages, yard work, or fishing. Cans are coming soon as well, which will make it easier to lug around in coolers. Great beer! (720 characters)

Deep golden, with a finger of bubbly head on the pour.

Orange rind and other citrus are strong with this one - can nearly envision walking through a an orange grove.

More rind comes through on the tongue - kind of like licking a fresh orange repeatedly. Some mango and pineapple follow. Not a great deal of breadth here, but what is here is good.

Pretty standard mouthfeel - decent carbonation, supporting the hoppiness.

Refreshing, perfect for summertime, easily a new seasonal session favorite. (504 characters)

A - Golden with lots of clarity, no head or sticky lace

S - A huge bitter and citrusy hop kick into the nose. Impressive! Lots of hops of course

T - A huge hoppy kick up front. Bitter aftertaste. Not malt backbone, which is to be expected with a Session IPA. Very tasty for what it is...

M - Lightly carbonated, mild and slick mouthfeel

O - I prefer a more well rounded "normal", or higher gravity IPA. But Founders provides a great session IPA, for the hop head at the lake in the summer time. (498 characters)

Incredible session IPA. Cans are extremely convenient. Don't let the low ABV fool you, this IPA is full of flavor and you will not want to put it down. Great beer. (163 characters)

12oz bottle, thanks to dbol, into a Fantome tulip.

True golden colour with a nice white head of foam. Spots of lacing a good head retention, slowly receding.

Really strong grapefruit smell, enduring and clean and defined. Faint touch of pineapple there as well.

Tastes of grapefruit and citrus. Hard to believe it is just 4.7% ABV. Plenty packed into this.

Strong bitterness, particularly early on that backs off a bit towards the end of the bottle. Certainly would grab for another. Very drinkable, yet pretty damn hoppy and bitter. Medium carbonation.

Really nice package. Super sessionable, really difficult to comprehend the relatively low ABV at times, easy to think this was 6% just with how much is in this. Very enjoyable. (735 characters)

One of the nicest aromas I've ever smelled. It's very sweet.

I've never found myself smelling the aroma of a beer over and over,
but did with this one.

Still has about 90 percent of the flavor of a regular IPA. (213 characters)

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Bottled 02/02/12

A: Pours a bright straw gold. Slight haze. Capped with a finger of bright white foam that doesn't hang around very long and also doesn't leave much in that way of lace behind.

S: Fresh-cut grass clippings, pine, and grapefruit. As it warms its' citrus leanings take center stage and out come aromas of tangerine and clementine.

T: As above with more in the way of pine. Malt is light yet assertive.

M: Relatively thin and crisp but pretty right on for the abv. Palate was left feeling clean and refreshed rather than sweet and leaden.

O: Totally lives up to its' name. This literally IS and all day IPA. Great stuff. (686 characters)

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a dark golden color with a 1 finger head and some lacing.

S: Lots of floral hops with some citrus mixed in. Maybe a little pine too. Very fresh and inviting smell.

T: A good amount of hops, but not as much as the nose suggests. A slight malt backbone, but mainly hops. Pretty bitter.

M: Light to medium bodied with good carbonation.

O: This is a solid IPA. Easy to drink, very clean, and quite enjoyable. Nice balance. A great session beer. (499 characters)

All Day IPA pours a clear, light bronze color with a moderate, fizzy head and a fair amount of bubbles in the glass. The foam on top dissipates quickly leaving behind a few spots and lines of lace.

The aroma is loaded with orange and tangerine citrus. A little lemon grass and a touch of sweet caramel malt is also present.

Each sip of this light to medium bodied beer is watery with firm carbonation. The flavor begins with lots of orange and lemon citrus before grassy bitterness takes over. Bready cereal malt tries to balance out the hop bitterness, but it comes up short. It finishes dry with lingering orange citrus when gone.

It's nice to have a very hoppy beer that's not 8%+ abv. This beer does tend to lean on the bitter side, but it has tons of hop flavor if that's what you're after. (799 characters)

Appearance: Pours a slightly burnished gold with a two-finger width white, bubbly head that quickly disperses into a thin froth on the surface, minimal lacing.

Aroma: Faint floral accents and hops mixed with a little fruitiness.

Taste: A bitter bite with fruity aftertaste, balanced fairly well so as not to overwhelm.

Mouthfeel: Moderate carbonation on the tongue, fairly smooth, with a lingering bitter bite on the back end. Just a tad watery.

Overall: This is a very serviceable IPA that doesn't blow you out of the room, but lets the flavor linger throughout. A nicely balanced brew. (593 characters)
