Had this on tap at Rivertowne about an hour ago. Review from memory. I thought it was an American Dark Strong, but they're calling it a barleywine.
3.5 A: Dark brown to black in color. The lighting was dim, so who knows. A touch of light brown creamy head.
3.5 S: Chocolate, toasty, herbal and piney hop presence.
4.0 T: Like the nose: chocolate, toasty, herbal and piney hops. Also good amount of caramel and toffee sweetness and a fairly strong dark fruit fruitiness. Just a touch of booziness. Very good.
4.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Very creamy and super smooth.
4.5 D: Pretty good all around, but the mouthfeel is great and elevates the beer. Alcohol is hidden well and I could drink more than a few of these.
Serving type: on-tap
