Rich appearance of pure blackness with a modest espresso bubbly head that recedes into wisps onto the outer rim.

Aromas of bittersweet chocolate, toffee and dark caramel. Just divine and you know you're getting into something good.

Straight up cocoa powder bitterness that ebbs into an island sugar caned cup of rich black Turkish coffee. Getting me some concrete malted milkshake aftertaste. Chocolate lingers with juz 'nuff hop. Splendid!

Leans to the thinner side-but hey, not a critique but just stating my interpretation, I love it! Cool crispness to this and just enough effervescence to tickle the mouth. Changing of temperature did not change any state of this quaff, but I preferred this one at cooler temps.. Very drinkable--smooth!

A tremendously tremendous classic porter. Does everything extremely well, hell I prefer this over their recent stouts. Twas my pleasure to add to the thousands of reviews on this one.

Pours a dark used motor oil black hue with a chocolate laced two finger head that leaves sporadic clingy lacing here and there, the smell is dark roasted malts, liquorice, brown sugar, cherries and roasty coffee, the mouthfeel is light bodied, silky smooth and well carbonated with tastes of dark roasted chocolate malts,a nice smack of aromatic herbal hops,a hint if vanilla and finished with a roasty coffee bittersweetness and overall what can I say apart from that this is a fine example of how I like my porters with a nice smack of choc/coffee with enough hops to keep it sessionable and beautifully balanced will buy again cheers.
