The best porter of my recollection. Extremely good.

Aroma is rich and inviting. I could smell it as soon as I opened the bottle, even with my nose more than a foot away from the bottle. Lots of toastyness.

Pours a deep dark brown, almost black with a beautiful dark tan head .

Flavor is intense. Rich toasted malt. Dark chocolate. Nice balance of bitter and rich notes. Not at all sweet but definitely rich. Maybe a tinge of fruit in there, maybe a tiny hint of cherries and raisins.

Exquisite mouthfeel. Supremely smooth but with just a tiny bit of carbonation. Lingering richness in the mouth. Not too sweet but not too bitter. Hops are in the background but are not dominant. Some spices too.

An extremely good beer. This one is worth seeking out.

Appearance: Pours black with a thick tan head that dissipated slowly. The only thing visible through this dark brew are tiny bubbles raising around the edges of the glass.

Aroma: I smell toasted chocolate and and burnt coffee malts in a big way.

Taste: The first thing I noticed was a wave of hops making their presence known. In the back of my mouth I am tasting caramel and roasted malts.

Mouthfeel: There is refreshing carbonation hitting you right in the mouth with each sip. I was surprised with the amount of carbonation coming through with this one.

Overall: Overall, this is a solid porter. Great way to introduce yourself to porters and I highly recommend it.

Pours total black with a rocky tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Chunks of foam cling to the glass. Intense fresh roasted barley and dark chocolate in the nose, with piney hops and malt sweetness in the back. The taste immense chocolate and roastiness. Dark cocoa mixes with milk chocolate and coffee notes. Citrusy, piney hop flavors add more complexity to the mix. Roasted malt bitterness mixes with the solid hop bitterness tying everything down. The finish is thick and full bodied with a textured, creamy carbonation.

A benchmark example of an An American Porter. Rich, roasty, complex. Good hop presence too. A must try.
