Appearance: Nice tawny color with no real head, just a loose mass of swirling bubbles. Agitating the beer and swirling it brings a thin tan head up for a few moments.
Smell: A bit of caramel and some saltiness along with molasses.
Taste: Roasty and slightly tart. The beer is a bit puckering from the tart roasted flavors and as it warms up the roasty character shows up even more. Over ripe red fruits with burnt chocolate, apple, and vanilla.
Mouthfeel: Some creaminess with a sticky, syrupy, medium to full body.
Drinkability: This beer is tasty but it seems to have an identity crisis. It is a porter ina scotch ale bottle.
Serving type: bottle
