Pours a deep ruby red with mild clarity and a decent amount of light shining through. Creamy, tan colored head on a somewhat aggressive pour; beer appears pretty thick and syrupy. Has a pretty basic, sweet and malty aroma, slightly boozy and full of dark fruity. Taste hits first with a bit of that alcoholic warmth, right alongside a handful of fruity, dark esters. Bourbon-soaked raisins are the first thing that come to mind. Some caramel sweetness leads into almost a slight tartness that takes on a white grape type of flavor. Heavy yeast was noticeable in the aftertaste as the beer fades, leaving your mouth tasting like bread soaked with booze - not bad. Body is medium - slightly thinner than the pour and appearance would have you think, mild creaminess and overall low carbonation.
This is a very nice wee heavy that I've been fortunate enough to have available year-round in most stores. Definitely a slow-drinker with a strong 8.5% ABV profile, but very inviting and flavorful all the way down.

Appearance: Dark brown with a reddish undertone, very thin head, leaving light lacing.
Smell: Strong malt scents were dominant, with a subtle sweet smell, caramel maybe?
Taste: Wowza! this beer is BITTER, the caramely sweetness is no match for the bitterness that the barely offers. A very interesting, earthy flavor.
Mouthfeel: High carbonation & medium bodied
Overall: Dirty Bastard was without question a good beer - not my favorite though. Definitely more of a sipping beer, although the bitterness may have been a little much for my novice pallet, I love this brewery and will absolutely give it another try.

This ones been on my mind for a while. Poured into a pint.
A: Pours a dark brownish amber color, barely any head that dissipated fast, and not much lacing to speak about.
S: Can smell burnt sugars, can pick up on the bourbon/scotch, malts
T: Can really pick up on the scotch, very prevalent in the after taste, pretty boozey as well, to be consumed slowly.
M: Very rich and thick, medium body carbonation, strong after taste from the booze and bourbon flavor.
O: It's different, unique, its strong, so drink it slow, the hard bourbon after taste is interesting, Put it on your list.

Wow, this turned out to be a beer that I liked much more than I expected. Great golden, brown color. Nose with lots of grape, fig flavors. an extremely smooth and malty taste, with alcohol nicely in a supporting role. A superb creamy mouth. I just hope I don't like it less the next time. Even though I like Founders a lot, this was a nice pleasant surprise.
