A really rich looking dark brown/amber with some mild particulates and a pale, yellow head. The head falls flat with minimal lacing, but the beer is still well carbonated.
Not overwhelming, in fact this may be one of the first founder's beers I've had that didn't have a pungent nose. However, there is still something mouthwatering about the beer. It's got some scotch, spice, and sweetness all well balanced.
Whoa, banging flavors! Sweet sugar with some scotch and sightly bitter spice. This is a pretty damn tasty beer, it's right in line with the other Founder beers I've had thus far. As far as scotch ales go, this is definitely one of the best I've had. Not too boozy and not too watered down.
Heavy malt with a slightly stinging alcohol after exhaling. The beer is medium bodied, but is generously carbonated.
This was an unexpected addition from a trade gone awesome from tburk and I'm super thrilled to try it. There isn't much wrong with the beer, not that I'm an expert on scotch ales, but I'd definitely get this beer again.
