Had this at Seven Monks Taproom in Traverse City, Michigan on July 25, 2012.
Served out of a firkin/cask into a snifter-like glass. Deep amber/burgundy in color, with a short, quickly disappearing head of foam.
Aroma-Wonderfull bouquet of citrus and piney hops.
Taste-Fruity citrus hops up front then quickly fades to a subtle spicy smokiness of dark fruit and an almost wine-like dry finish. A perfect match for aged Gouda or a strong Cheddar. Thank you to Seven Monks for this rare treat! A "must" destination if you are ever in the Traverse City area. (557 characters)
