I know a lot of people are down on this beer because it was not what they were hoping Founders would make, but I have a solution. Send the bottle you do not want my way. I will happily consume those pesky bottles.
Appearance - The beer was a golden orange color with a slight white head. It was a reflection of modest carbonation.
Smell - There really was not anything about the aroma that would suggest this beer to be unique. Would it be to vague to say it smelled like regular beer?
Taste - On the initial taste, one gets the sweet of mango. Here comes the heat. The heat starts on the front of the tongue before moving to the back of the throat. The taste is almost sticky sweet which makes me wonder if the texture is helping the sweet to stick. It is tough to note other notes once the heat kicks in. The heat is not unbearable, but people with low tolerance for spicy food would probably not like it.
Mouthfeel - As noted earlier, there is a stickiness to this beer. The thicker texture and sweetness certainly are not typical of beer.
Overall - I know many people are disappointed that this is not ___ by Founders, but it is actually a good unique beer.
