Mango Magnifico is a high-gravity fruit beer brewed with mango and a touch of habaneros to add just the right amount of heat. The delicate flavors imparted by the sweet richness of the mango are punctuated perfectly by the subtle heat of the habaneros, proving that fruit beers do not have to be one-note

12 oz. bottled on 05.27.22

Pours hazy amber orange with floating sediment and a creamy off-white foam head. Smells like nutty caramelized toasted malt, honey, hints of chocolate, sweet candied mango, orange, habanero pepper heat and fruitiness, some spicy red hot cinnamon, fruit rollup, with subtle earthy floral hops. Tastes like sweet caramelized nutty toasted malt, honey, sweet fresh mango, fresh habanero pepper, candied orange fruit, subtle chocolate, with earthy floral hop notes. Feels medium bodied, creamy and slick with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a really nice mango habanero ale.

Poured from bottle into tulip, good 1+ finger off white head, good retention and lacing. Burnished golden in the glass, significant amount of floaties in the glass. Smells of mango, and that smell I associate with what I call a flabby beer, so based on nose not too excited. Taste, well pleasant surprise. Big burst of mango, apricot, something else I cannot put my finger on, then the fruitiness of the habanero, along with the heat. Beer starts off on the sweet side, but the finish and the heat make it pretty balanced. There is residual heat left on the back of the throat. Nice beer, can't figure out the low score. This is a beer made to eat with Mexican food

Sweet, with a good amount of habanero flavor. Not too much spice. Very easy drinker for 10% ABV.

12oz bottle into a teku. Bottled 5/26/22, so 4 months old.

Looks very good in the teku. Hazy dull auburn body. Streams of carbonation replenish a bright white bubbly head leaving streaks of lacing

Fresh mango aroma, with a little boiled sweets.

On tasting, sweet mango, and just the right amount of habanero heat for balance. The really odd thing here, is I get a fleeting milk chocolate note between the mango and pepper. I have no explanation for this.

Mouth between medium and full, finish a mild pepper burn.

Overall, glad to see this one in the Bottle Shop series, missed it the last time. Ingredients are right up my alley, though can imagine this could be a love/hate beer.

L - orange hued with an off-white head that dissipates somewhat quickly leaving behind no real lacing to speak of
S - Subtle hints of sweet mango and a little habanero pepper - maybe some melon as well
T - Sweet mango up front and throughout with notes of smoky habanero - slight hints of honey and caramel. Heat is barely there but it's enough to let you know there are some peppers in the brew
F - medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O - a pretty interesting brew, if a little simple in complexity

L: reddish gold, minimal head.
S: Sweet and soft. Apricot, melon, a bit of caramel, and jalapeño.
T: Upfront a bit cloying, quite rich. Apricot, fruit syrup, raw pepper, then a bit of heat on the tongue and throat.
F: smooth, moderate carbonation, very noticeable heat from the pepper and the alcohol.
O: I’m afraid the smell is the best part. I think this beer seals the deal on beers with chili peppers for myself. I just can’t get away from the raw vegetable, onion-like character that hangs with the body. I don’t mind the heat, and think it can be a nice compliment, but that pepper taste…. Nope, not for me.

Another entry in Founders recent Bottle Shop Series, we have another “classic” that’s been revived, Mango Magnifico. This one is a Fruit Beer at heart, with habanero added to kick things up a notch. These things tend to be either really good or really bad, so this one is a gamble. Let’s see what it’s all about

Pours a cloudy brownish orange with 2 fingers of off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

Well it certainly smells vibrant, but there’s not all that much going on with it. I’m picking up on aromas of mango skin, tart pineapple juice, doughy malt, light habanero, and green apple

The tartness unfortunately disappears in taste, but it’s still solid. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting mango skin, green tea, honey, zesty pepper, bready malt, and orange. The swallow brings notes of mango skin, sweet tea, honey, habanero, bready malt, and a touch of caramel

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth and zesty beer. Finishes mostly dry with a nice bite

There’s something pulling me towards this one for some reason. It’s not my favorite beer from Founders, not even close, but it has an odd charm to it that I really appreciate

12oz bottle pours with clear coppery amber with a yellowish head - lots of sweeter bready notes, some caramel and impressions of honey, to go along with a boozy sweet juicy fruit component and a light spice character. The spice is minor and not distracting, this is mostly a strong ale with a big malt presence.

Amber with a 1/2" off white head, which fades to a wisp. Light lacing.

Aroma of mango, spices.

Taste is mango, hot pepper, spices.

Medium body, light carbonation. Dry finish with a slight lingering burn.

Spicy hot. Good mango flavor.

Single bottle from Party Source
Distinctive mango aroma and taste.
There is something that does not go together here. I think it's the mango and the hops.
The habaneros kick in at the very finish leaving a lingering burn on your gum.
This one is not for me...

12oz bottled 5/27/22 (38 days ago) poured into a snifter at fridge temp 10% ABV 10 IBU per label. The beer pours mostly bright medium amber with khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. Slight lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet and spicy notes. The taste is semisweet up front with a fairly quick 180 to moderate pepper heat. The mango and habanero are each well represented IMO. Negligible bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with just less that average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. ABV seems to hide well behind the lingering pepper flavor and heat. Overall, very good. It can't be easy to find the balance for a beer like this and this execution is as good as I've encountered.

Fantastic head production and retention, leaving behind insanely thick lacing. Body is almost perfectly crystal clear, despite an intense liveliness.

The aroma tends to live up to the name, with restrained but noticeable notes of mango and habanero alongside honey, caramel, orange, and a fruity bouquet.

Whoo, this is quite sweet and syrupy on the palate, but not over the top. The mango is mostly in the mix, instead of standing out too much. The habanero brings a lovely heat noticeable almost right away, and lasting through the middle of the sip; after more sips, the heat lingers longer, all the way through the finish. The level of heat is very restrained, nothing like habanero Sculpin, for example; it's very drinkable, and not the kind of beer you have to be a total spice fan to drink (although as a pepper fan, it's definitely a more enjoyable experience).

This is interesting and unique. I love it. It's almost too sweet - almost. It's not too spicy, but the heat is there.
