Passed it by chance. The place was packed for a Wednesday night, yet the service at the bar was fast and the bar tender took the time to explain each beer. I choose a new variety, Mosaic, which was lighter than the browns, porters and stouts I usually drink. The bar tender was spot on in his description which had definite notes of grapefruit and I liked it a lot. I liked the place and can't wait to go back.

What a cool brewpub. It’s an absolute must visit if you’re a beer dork. Or if you’re not. It gets crowded, but they have a dedicated service area that keeps everything moving. The food comes from a window. Basically everything is self service, but in a place this big and busy, it works the best.

Wow! Stayed a night in Grand Rapids on the way home to Iowa from a family vacation. Talked the wife into dragging my two young kids into the city and check out Founders . . . despite the construction overhaul taking place, I can see why Founders is considered one of the best. What an incredible atmosphere. The taproom overlooks the brewery. Our server was awesome! Knew his beer! Had an All Day IPA on tap which was great as usual but the highlight was a hoppy, special brew Gold Dust Woman. Brought home a growler of it. My wife loved her Raspberry Ale too, and she's not usually a beer drinker. They have food options but it's more of a deli. The food was okay at best. But who goes to Founders for the food?!? Tough to beat this place . . .

Went downtown with Brandon and Chelsea the night before my interview. Drank some pale ale, listened to some good music, and had a good night. There were a lot of road bikers there which made me want to ride my bike into Founders one day. Great place to sit down with friends and drink some good beer. I didn't try the food but I will have to next time I visit.

I went to Founders Brewing Company a week or so after Foundersfest and was lucky enough to get some of the remaining special brews from the event. Founders is one of my favorite breweries and the visit didnt dissapoint.

The server was there within 2 minutes to take our drink order, which is always a plus.

My wife and i ordered a Devil Dancer TIPA on tap, and followed it up with a Barrel Aged Honey Stuff served in a snifter. Both were excellent brews. The food was amazing, beer cheese dip was second to none.

All in all i had a great experience and look forward to KBS day in March.

A+ expereince

I find myself in the Grand Rapids area a couple of times a year and always try to get to Founders whenever I can. I was there a few weeks ago and had a great experience, as always. It was a little more difficult trying to navigate around and find parking since they are in the midst of a large expansion project, but that's my only complaint. The service was outstanding, even though it was very crowded. The food was great. Be sure to get a pitcher of water if you order the Devil Dancer sandwich. Boy, was that thing hot! The beer selection is incredible. I wish I had a place like this right in back yard! They didn't have anything available for take out that I can't get at my local liquor store, so I didn't bring anything home, but they did have several brewery-only releases on tap that I was able to sample. Highly recommended for a visit if you're in the area.

Love Founders! The only complaint is parking. So i can't wait until their expansion is completed! The food is great and not your tradition "bar" food. Overall I always look and ask for Founders beer, Dirty Bastard is my favorite! Their KBS is to die for but good luck getting any, people line up outside the brewery the day before its released!

Founders was my favorite place to hang out besides a few Grand Rapids coffee shops when I was taking classes at MSU. The set up is really great and there's lots of space and acsess(?). It's a comfortable place to sit and drink. It use to not be as busy as it is now which is good for them. Back then at least it wasn't a bad place to get a little studying done. The food was surprisingly good. They do a good job running the special events and releases they do too. Even when it's busy the service is good. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Then there's the beer. Founders is one of my favorite breweries and there beers are awesome. They have one of the best regular line ups of anyone.

Founders Brewery is a great experience. From the time you enter the building until your last beer, everything is first class.

I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. There was such a broad selection, I didn't know where to begin. The bartender asked me the styles I liked and guided me in the right direction. Every time she suggested one, it was right on in the range of beers I lean too.

Atmosphere was nice. Music in the background gives it a chilled out feel. I went at night and was a little dark do my taste, but not enough for me to leave and not try the quality being produced

Basically, this place should be on your bucket list, and it's worth the long haul. I drove from Cincinnati in a snow storm for the experience, and benefits definitely outweighed the risks

I absolutely love Founder's. This place has an amazing setup and top notch service. They have bands often, and I'm always happy with the music that is playing. Haven't had any Founder's beers that aren't of superior quality and deliciousness. They do a lot of special release beers also. They serve some delicious food also, deli style sandwiches and appetizers. Grand Rapids best local brewery by far.
