A store I always hit up when in town visiting my buddies and with right next to the frolf course a must stop before heading out.Located at the southern end of town actually out of town really it looks like any other "party" store but to the right you see a nice selection of micros on shelves as well two coolers of mainly midwestern micros as well as some imports.Alot of Bells,Atwater, and Arcadia, with smaller selections of Founders,New Holland, and a few other MI micros but the state is very well represented. The midwestern selections include Sprecher,Summit,Goose Island, and Schell mainly with a decent selection of English and Belgians as well.Usually the girls behind the counter are freaked out when a micro is brought up to the counter they have never heard of or seen most of the micros except for Oberon in the store. The "underground" wich many of the locals call this place is the best place to find good beer in keg or bottle in MP easily.

Old Mission Party store has a somewhat smaller selection of beer than what I am use to. They did have what I came for though, Shorts. Along with Shorts they had, Dark Horse, Atwater, Arcadia, Bells, Founders, Stone, Goose Island, Rogue, Lagunitas and others. I was pleased to see their mix a 6 had a decent selection of brews to choose from, they even had Hopslam! I would say their prices were on par with most other places I have been. Their service was fair at best. I asked for help finding something, the guy pointed to it, and before I could even get a word out he left. When I am back around this area I will probably stop in again.

Along with the selection of beer this place also carries a variety of liquors, wines and other things a normal party store carries. Also has a decent selection of homebrew recipe kits. Now, onto the good stuff...

Old Mission has a decent selection now of singles that can be purchased for the mix a six (get 10% off if you buy 6). This is indeed a good feature, one I think every good store should have. They carry quite a variety of brews including both Michigan craft and national craft beers. If it's made in Michigan and distributed widely through Michigan you can probably find it here. They also have a good selection of bombers for sale including some of the harder to find (at least in N. Michigan) Jolly Pumpkin, Rogue, and Stone brews. Service wasn't anything spectacular, but I can't really expect much more from a party store. I'm sure people are willing to help but I don't think the knowledge of beer I would expect would be there. They are a bit on the pricey side, but it's Northern Michigan, so I was really expecting it. This place is definitely worth a stop if you are in town.

Old Mission is a great store, it has the largest selection of micro-brews and imports in the area. They carry the largest selection of Michigan Micro in the area. There is a nice selection of big bottle beers ranging from Chimay to Rouge. Like most party stores all the basics are here, but Old Mission always has them in stock.

The owner is always looking for new and exciting products. If a customer asks for a product that he doesn't carry, he tries to find it for them.

They also are the only place in the Mount Pleasant are that has home brewing supplies.

Old Mission Party store is the best place to buy beer in Mt. Pleasant. They have a large supply of Michigan brews and tons of imports. They have a huge walk in cooler, however, the most interesting thing in there is usually twelve packs of local brews (like the Michigan Brew Company sampler, etc.). The owner, Ric, is always ready to help you order a specialty keg, which we did many times while in college (Guiness, Goose ISland, etc). They also have a small amount of home brew supplies. Basic starter kits, specialty grains, hops. Can't remember if they sell yeast. I assume they do, but can't be for sure.
