On tap at the John Harvards in Lake Grove, NY. Pours amber with a ring of white head. Aroma of citrus and grassy hops. Flavor of potpurri, sweet grapefruit, nice hop bitterness, with a sweetness in the finish. Nice IIPA but a little light on the flavor.

A - Hazy red in a dim light. Head is impressively solid and creamy with good retention.

S - Big, rich, fresh grapefruit with floral notes and a light pine. Bready note that seems to be characteristic of this brewpub.

T - Typical DIPA hoppiness. Lots of up-front fruit, and hop flavour. Finishes serious bitter edge. Some alcohol shines through as well, adding complexity.

M - A little bit on the fizzy side, and served too cold and a bit heavy.

D - Not the most drinkable DIPA, but has the requisite flavours and boldness.

Poured a deep amber hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell consisted of an oily citrus and peppery hop with hints of dried fruit.

The taste featured a chewy peppery hop, some slight alcohol warmth and a solid husky grain.

The mouthfeel was slightly chewy with an alcohol tingle.

Overall a pretty comple DIPA. Good drinkability here.

They sell T-shirts in JH with this brew's name on it, so it has to be good, right? Well, it is. It pours a lovely opaque amber/brown color with a thin white head, and good retention and lacing. The aroma is faint, of floral, citrus, and piney hops. Nice.

The taste is certainly this beer's strong point. It doesn't go hop crazy like so many DIPAs try to do, but they are boutiful in this beer, nd you do take note of them. The hops are offset by a strong malt backbone that balances this drink out very nicely. The finish is dry, but the taste doesn't linger, it almost stops short. At first I wasn't sure if this was awesome or disspointing, but I'm leaning toward the former.

Mouthfeel is full yet dry. This beer is highly drinkable for a DIPA. Definitely reccomended if you find yourself in Long Island's John Harvard's.
